Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to LANEshia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
LANEshia, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is my first EP, ‘The Journey.’
During quarantine, because of the global pandemic, we decided to start building our studio. We weren’t going anywhere so, why not create a space that allows you to be more creative.
I released my first single in 2020 with the simple intention of sharing. I had no idea where it would go.
After several interviews with a few DJs and podcast hosts, I was encouraged to make more music which eventually turned into my EP, The Journey.
It was a big deal for me to put a body of work together to share with the world, because I’ve spent so many years supporting other creatives behind the scenes. I love helping others obtain their goals, and I’ve been quite successful at doing so. This time… it’s me time! And that is very scary and fun at the same time. (smile)
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Well… I was born into the music industry and then I married over into it. I started mixing live sound at events and singing background for different artists. See! I love supporting others.
I think there are a few things that set me apart.
1. We are all uniquely created.
2. I get a chance to work with the very best there is!
3. I have a very close and trusted relationship with the team I work with.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
YES! I’m getting comfortable with being uncomfortable!
I have so much I want to share with the world. I have a goal to support film with my music. Just putting that out there!
I believe I have the ability to evoke emotion and reflection through my music. I want to make a life-changing impact through every song and bless the ears and the hearts of the listeners.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I’d known that everything I have ever needed was already inside of me. It took a few butt-kicking conversations from some musicians and producer friends to highlight that for me.
Encouragement break:
Tap into what you have, use it, and then watch the support you need, show up for you!
