We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shaunie B a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Shaunie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Shaunie B, CJ Sims, and Claudia Sweatt have collaborated to feed and provided new and gently used clothes for the homeless. One day, I was on the phone with CJ just bouncing ideas around on what to call ourselves. We decided on Bless.It.Back. How fitting, Right!? I played around with how I wanted the wording to look. Finally, I located an image that brought the name to life.
I always lived by the standard “no one deserves to be hungry.” I’ve always understood that in a blink of an eye you can lose it all. Therefore, I never really cared why a person was down on their luck. I never passed judgement. I just gave from the bottom of my heart. If I was in the position to feed a person, I would. My mother raised me to understand It cost $0 to be kind. This inspired me to always keep loose dollars in my car, so if I came to a stop at a light I could help someone. I started saving extra money from checks to make sandwiches, chips, and water bags. Thank you to Destiny from D.C. who donate money to me via Youtube live.
Claudia noticed my contributions and wanted to expand how we impacted Dallas on foot. She came up with the idea to prepare sanitation kit for individuals and provided hygiene products for women and addrd them with my food bags. Later, Claudia started collecting shoes, clothes, and blankets.
This set off a spark for CJ because he travels for work, he wanted to contribute the best way he could. He started his mission helping the homeless community as he traveled between assignments.
Now due to Covid, we had to change up how we gave. The city had so many restrictions. Now we are moving forward with providing food gift cards in increments of $10. This allows them to have variety when they eat and have a hot meal at the time they desired.
There are so many people who love what we do and would love to help. If you want to contribute locally or from long distance all donations can be made on my website www.shauniebentertainment.com.

Shaunie , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello world, my name is Shaunie B
I am the jack of all trade. If you asked someone about me that would tell you that stay busy and I am extremely talented. Lol. Their words, not mine.
I was always known as the class clown in school. If you looked at my yearbook from every school year there is picture proof.
I never thought being a comedian was a full time career. In my day, college was the only focus and then we were told to work, work, work until retirement. I truly just enjoyed making people smile. I never really thought that I was stand-up funny. People always found humor in EVERYTHING I said even if I was being extremely serious.
In 2009, I moved to Texas. This move has changed my life for the good. Networking, hard work, and consistency has molded me to be an entrepreneurial beast! Now, with the help of some dope comedy coaches and mentors I’ve expanded my business in hosting, motivational speaking, and media development. I have my own fashion line and air freshener fragrance line. I am a one stop shop. All merchandise can be purchased on www.shauniebentertainment.com ( I ship locally and out of state)
What makes me different from most?
I teach others how to be a boss! I challenge my friends by pushing themselves and chasing their dreams. Distractions are the reasons why people are still on step 1. Its team “no excuse.”
In my community there is a “crab in the mentality “. Well I decided to break the chains. I am not in competition with anyone but MYSELF. Therefore, I want everyone to win. I give out daily gems so people can succeed. “Each one teach one”.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Support your people. Support isn’t only monetary! You can share their social media post, if you are in a position to pass their name around to higher ups, do it because you see the talent. Not because you want to reap the benefits. Give them affirmations, it is hard being an artist. Some times a quick word of accomplishment goes a long way
Don’t wait until they are famous. To brag about knowing them.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I want someone to teach me. Hell, people are cashing out in a few hours. I am ready to travel and retire. I am not sure of how NFT’s work but I am truly intrigued by it.
