We recently connected with Silent Fox and have shared our conversation below.
Silent, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
Like many artists, Silent Fox began creating and drawing what she loved as a child. She would draw my favorite cartoon characters and in class, she would draw on the side of my notebooks. In retrospect, Fox didn’t realize how frequently she was creating until friends and family encouraged her to become an artist. Known for her chill vibes and creative drive, Silent lives a multifaceted lifestyle devoted to visual art and graphic design. Silent has been creating for a lifetime and still continues today. There have been many important lessons and experiences to live. These lessons and experience can help you as an artist/creative or entrepreneur. Silent believe people in the creative field should try everything and anything that makes you happy. Art that is new and unexplored because It will help you decide your aesthetic as an artist in the end. Finding your art style happens when you try styles that move you to searching for things you like and dislike about art. Remember creating takes a lifetime so give yourself time to grow and evolve into that artist you want to become.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Graphic designer and visual artist from Minnesota, Silent Fox created her own name in 2016 to identify with her artwork. As well as an AFA in fine arts, she holds a BA in studio arts and graphic design. The name ‘Silent Fox’ comes from her belief that silence allows one to reflect on today’s world and creates a journey to discover meaning in life. Upon viewing her artwork you may notice that she uses a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic, digital illustration, and so forth, causing her art work to be constantly evolving. Due to the fact that her work is largely exploratory, she has an opportunity to learn and see things she wouldn’t have beforehand. Her goal is to try to look at life as it shifts and changes. Her work is a reflection of my community, social issues and life experiences and it has involved something beautiful Tackling a variety of topics trying to find a new/different perspective. She creates art that uses bold color ranging in work that is both simple to dynamic. In Fox’s work, she looks at her own life experience as well as observing and listening to daily life in our time. She takes that knowledge and reflects it into pieces of art. She believes “it’s a magical feeling, allowing herself and others to open your mind and reflect on the wonders of life. Question what we are really seeing and learning as a society. Fox begins to try to understand endless possibilities and create more. She collaborates her experiences and explores things she is unaware of; This gives her a dive into the ability to access the unknown. Despite how difficult it may be, it’s always an efficient way to start a project; both knowing and not knowing then growing from that. Society has a lot of problems, and while one may look at them, most times you don’t know how to handle them. The arts are a great way for her to handle them.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ablity to create and share a piece of you to the world. Working as an artist allows you ton problem solve and explore new ideas that can be interpreted in a wide range of ways. Being an artist you can express freely and build connection you never knew you could.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In the ideal world where the creative ecosystem is thriving you find communities supporting artist. There are a number of ways society can best support artists. Buying art would be amazing but also costly; I recommend just donating to the artist. Donating can come in the form of financial investment in addition to material such as supplies to create the artwork itself. I recommend hyping your art friends up by sharing or reshaping work, liking and subscribing/ following their social media pages. Spread the word so even if you can’t invest in them others have the opportunity.
