We recently connected with Travis Albright and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Travis thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
As the executive director of the Future Arts Foundation, I really wanted for us to have a flagship event which was both world class and gave back to the community. We launched the Bluebird Music Festival in 2018 with the idea of hosting a unique music festival. The event features afternoon Strings & Stories events which are similar in form to the old VH1 Storytellers, and also features evening events with full bands and full sets of music. Since inception just four years ago, the event has seen attendees from over 10 countries and almost every state, as well as bringing in millions of dollars to the Boulder County economy from its 8,000 attendees.
Not only does the festival help the local economy and bring a world-class event to Boulder, but it also gives back. Because the event is hosted by the Future Arts Foundation, proceeds are used to provide musical instruments to those who cannot afford them, including local schools. This year, the foundation has given away over $50,000 in festival tickets as a thank you to those who have donated musical instruments for the Marshall Fire victims. Because of this, over 400 instruments have now been donated to those who not only lost their instruments, but their homes in the fire.
This April’s lineup features Margo Price, Colin Meloy of The Decemberists, The Lone Bellow, Langhorne Slim, Waxahatchee, and more. www.bluebirdmusicfestival.org

Travis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the executive director of the Future Arts Foundation and founder of the Bluebird Music Festival.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Our brand is building a community, supporting that community, and having a blast with that community. We hope that the Bluebird Music Festival epitomizes this mission of the Future Arts Foundation. We host additional events throughout the year to ensure we continue to build this community. Our Bluebird Supper Club takes place each season at the Rayback Collective in Boulder. Each event features nationally touring musicians paired with dinner and drinks. All members receive complimentary tickets to the Bluebird Music Festival. This enables our followers to build their own community within this larger community and make friends that will last a lifetime. Hopefully they always remember that they were able to foster these relationships because of these events.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Even though we are a small, local nonprofit, we came right out of the gate with world-class musicians at our events and national press. From the beginning, the festival has featured musicians who play much larger venues, such as Red Rocks. This gave us credibility right from the start as we saw with our first ever festival selling out with attendees from around the world! We hope that you all join the Bluebird Music Festival family!
