We recently connected with Abreail Foreman and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Abreail, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I’ve always wanted to own or have my own business especially in the cosmetics industry. I just never had the time to actually start or focus on the idea(s) until 2020 when the pandemic started. I began working from home with my fulltime job and while doing that I decided to go ahead and start my vision. I researched and googled everything from vendors to products and much more. I started two different businesses during the beginning of the pandemic. I got my Empowerment Life Coach Certification and became the CEO of my beauty and skincare business called B’HER BEAUTY!!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My business is called B’HER BEAUTY!! I’m very big on self-care and self-love. Many women wear so many different hats and etc to where they sometimes neglect themselves with parenting, working fulltime and etc. I wanted to provide beauty and skincare products to make women not only look good but feel good. Because when you look good, you feel good. My products which include body butters, body oils, lipglosses, facial oils, milk bath salts and soaps are handmade with natural and organic ingredients by myself. I became most excited and proud when learning that my products has helped others with skincare problems such as eczema, dermatitis, dry skin and much more.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I currently sell on my website and I offer pick up and or delivery. My products are also located inside a local department store here in Little Rock, AR called Drug Emporium. And next month (November) my products will be on the shelf in a esthetician wax studio called Bare by Dominique located in Little Rock, AR as well. I’m honored that these two businesses have given me the opportunity to have my business inside of their establishments.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
That running a business is a overnight success. Success does not happen overnight and you will not see the harvest the same day you plant the seed. It’s truly a process and not to compete or compare yourself with any other person and or business.
