We recently connected with Andrius Maddox and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrius , thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I want my legacy to speak volumes for the person I am. My legacy will be able to influence others to make positive changes within so that he/she can be their best authentic self. Being able to dress the part or particular standard is not always the norm and i wan people to know that is perfectly acceptable for being you, and to have fun with clothing. My legacy will prove to everyone that fashion for men is just as important as it is for women, and that men also enjoy looking our best selves.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Throughout college, I was always complimented on how well I dressed from both peers and teachers. I was frequently asked “how did I find particular clothing, and how do I dress it up or down.” I never thought I was a go-to person for fashion because I believe everyone has there own unique fashion sense. I came from a place where I was not always the most confident in what I wore, I was extremely self conscious about certain pieces of clothing because it did not give me the look I desired. Stepping out of my comfort zone boosted my level of confidence. In return, others felt comfortable to ask my opinion on fashion choices for themselves.
Over the years, my family, friends, coworkers, and strangers deemed me the go-to for the latest fashion trends for men. I created the ModernMan Social Branding because men fashion is not widely publicized like female fashion, I thought it was pertinent that I create a platform that gives men options and/or insight about clothing that may help step him out of his comfort zone but still at a level of comfortability.
I am most proud of the positive changes I make with my clients. When doing consultations for clients, I am frequently asked how do I know what is he best colors that make them stand out. I respond, “It’s my job to know my clients and based off our conversation, I can tell what you will allow me to show you.” I like to get know my client and gage what he or she daily attire, and what are the typical colors that are frequently worn. My clients are very appreciative of my opinions and expertise. I like to know that my clients have made breakthroughs, and willing to do the work to become the best version of themselves.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Social Media and Digital Media has become the main source of network marketing for the past 3-4 years. Having an extensive following through several social media platforms to showcase your business or creativity as proved to increase business clientele. I present my craft to the world to share with others as well as hire different digital leads to promote my business to generate clientele.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most important life lesson’s I had to unlearn was to never give up on dreams, and drown out all negative thoughts and people who can’t envision your dream. i was told by several associates that I was never going to make it in the fashion industry because i don’t have the look that is portrayed online and in the media. I used to listen to those thoughts and take what they said because maybe they see something I don’t. I had to look at myself and learn that it’s okay not to fit the norm of what society thinks is an appropriate. I decided to live for me and like everything about myself to make to ensure that I can make a difference in someones life.
