Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julia Dunbar. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julia, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents always say, “You can never give too much love.” In the end, we all truly just want to love and be loved. My mom grew up in Germany and was raised in a rather strict and harsh way, of course weaved with love as well. It was her goal to soften. It impacted me tremendously to stay in my heart and let myself feel. I was a sensitive child, and I was able to express my emotions. I was allowed to feel and had space for the emotions to move through me, which I now help others do. My dad taught philosophy, world religion, and film. He is deep and expressive. He often shared with us when he was sad, that he felt “weltschmerz,” the German word for “world pain.” This impacted me as a young child by helping me realize consciously and subconsciously how connected we all are, how we are one. Often the world’s suffering can feel like ours too because of this. So, we send out love and compassion as often and deeply as we can to help ourselves and others process that pain. My dad would often have us dancing with him in the middle of a restaurant, reading us his poetry, sharing that the beach was also a church, sacred spaces all around us, and making sure we stop and smell the roses or take in the awe of the starry night sky or a beautiful sunset. My mom shared the importance to love our bodies and passion of dance and to freely express ourselves physically and spiritually. I feel through their love and awe of life, I can easily access that ability to express compassion and I help others to access it through the work I share and teach…as well as sharing this with my daughter, May. It is my calling to help people see the love within, the light that they can access and expand on… and help them see the beauty within and all around them. We can shift this world from a head-centered world to a heart-centered world with this awareness and devotion to beauty and love.
Julia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
First, I am a mother to my beautiful daughter May. Her birth catapulted my drive to help others and to create a safer, more heart-centered world for the child I was bringing into the world.
After the first year of having her, I embarked upon my own healing journey through Kundalini Yoga and Reiki energy healing. These two healing modalities helped me heal so quickly and powerfully that I decided to be a devoted student of these teachings.
I went through several stages of training in Kundalini Yoga and Reiki energy healing. I now give intuitive healing sessions where I help shift and open peoples’ chakras and energy fields to help them heal and elevate. This can help clear past trauma, connect to one’s truth, and offer support through the divine vessel and channels we are. Through my sessions, we connect to spirit guides and a channel of healing that we all can activate from within, especially through certain healing modalities such as Reiki. Reiki is supportive of overall well-being, a healthy immune system, and clearing stagnant energy in the mind and body. Illness is just energy that is stuck in the body, with these healing modalities, it is possible to shift and heal stuck energy that has sometimes been there for a very long time, which could even involve our ancestors and family lineage.
I also teach Kundalini Yoga, a powerful practice to help practitioners shift their lives. It can awaken your gifts and help you feel and step into your fullest potential. The beauty of this practice is that it is scientific and elevates you quickly. In just three minutes, you can shift your auric field to attract and magnetize opportunities and repel and clear negativity in your body, mind, and your energetic field (aura, electromagnetic field).
I also help women to get into their divine feminine flow through these powerful healing tools of energy healing and Kundalini Yoga. So many of us are stuck in the past and not stepping into and amplifying our fullest potential. When we are living in our truth and alignment, we are able to sense that we are connected, powerful forces on this planet. You know you are here for a reason and trust in your highest destiny. In the practices I teach, we increase the chi or “life force energy.” When your chi and forcefield are strong, your entire life changes. You are glowing with a sense of peace, your vitality is strong, and you can quickly see the lessons and opportunities to help you grow from challenges. You are alive, present, and aligned with your radiance and power to heal yourself and by doing so you heal the world. Remembering our innate goodness and love that these practices reawaken is what helped me and is also the reason why I share these modalities with the world now.
I also have a skincare line I created while pregnant with my daughter. I am currently not sharing these but look forward to bringing them back into production in the future.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
I would not change anything because my journey and profession have made me the person I am today. By finding and following my calling, I truly get to step into and share my gifts every day. I want people to feel good, empowered, and know they are on a journey toward fulfillment. My profession allows me to help others on their journey.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Many times, going with the flow. When we feel like we have control, usually we are thrown something
