Alright, Mike thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Building my own business and brand to serve humanity by protecting, inspiring and pushing humanity’s evolution forward: As a youngster I always had this subtle feeling like I was meant to do something really big and important for the world…Like there was something more out there than what I was being taught and it needed to be brought into the awareness of many others worldwide. I didn’t know how I was going to do this or what it would look like at that time. Call it faith, call it a calling from a higher power, whatever it was, it seemed like an impossible task and as I matured through life, I just knew it was going to happen and had to be done!
When I graduated from highschool in 2000, I finished as one of the best basketball players in the state of Colorado and this was after surviving a rare form of cancer at the age of 17. At the end of my high school basketball career I made the coaches all-state team and game and dominated the other players and team, strange thing was…out of those 20 players selected, I was the only one yet to have a college athletic scholarship offer, the only one! My future was unsure, all I knew is that I did not want to go to some small town junior college to play basketball and so I chose to attend Seattle University on academic and diversity scholarships instead of playing basketball at the next level. This was the first risk I took in a series of risks that would prove to redefined my life drastically and put me on course, keeping me in alignment with that feeling I had as a youngster that I was here to do something great for the world.
Within that first semester of college many life altering events happened and energies came into my life. Firstly, 2 weeks before school was starting the federal financial aid department contacted my mother (who raised me and my little sister as a single mom, shoutout all the single mommas out there, the work yall do is incredible, yall shouldn’t have to raise kids all by yourself but yall figure out how to make it happen! Pure inspiration of going against the odds.) Anyhow FAFSA contacted my mother and told her I wasn’t getting all the scholarships they offered us and so I was going to have to get some student loans to pay for school. This was devastating to my young mind at the time and to compound the devastation a few months into me going to school in Seattle my best friend Kevin Deon Johnson killed himself visiting me out there! Needless to say these series of events inspired me and within a semester I had completely transformed from who I was in highschool and a deeper sense of purpose took over my life. I was inspired to become an artist and I embraced the Hiphop culture and chose to take another risk by dropping out of college to pursue my dreams of being a music and cultural artist. As I studied the artforms of Hiphop I discovered a deep reverence and love for all of the expressions, from the dance(breakin’) to the visual graffiti, to collecting, playing records and making past musical genres come back alive through sampling and making beats and production and ultimately culminating in the becoming of a poet and an Emcee or spokesperson of this deeply impactful global movement that started in the ghettos of New York and spread all across the world. This movement gave me purpose and my first glimpse into how I would impact the world with my greatness. I returned back to Colorado to live with my father for the first time since I was 8 years old and began my campaign as a Hiphop artist now in control and creating/designing my own life’s path. No college institution could ever do that for me! The message and the example I was starting to set for living ones own life on ones own terms, taking control of our own lives and building our own dreams was starting to wake up in me. Not too soon after turning 20 years old I met my lady Robin Eden and I took the next big risk of my life, we have been together for 20 years now, we have built a beautiful family, with very little resources initially and regardless of what society told us we should do before building a family. Our union has been built and maintained on faith and love in each other and a vision of a better, healthier world for children to grow up in and for all creatures to thrive in. We now have 4 children, ages 10-21. Showing them they can be, do and have anything they put their hearts and minds to has been some of the highest honor to live. Greatness starts in each of us individually and spreads through our closest relationships, rippling into the larger society. My soul has been forever moved by the life I am able to live and the inspiration I have received from others living this life along side me near and far. To the credit of my lady Robin Eden I was introduced to permaculture/ecological design, when we first met I was a city kid and she was a mountain girl….it blew my mind how she knew the names and how to use so many different wild plants in the area. This gave me an even deeper sense of how we as so called humans could take our living back into our own hands and be less dependent on big corporations for our wellbeing, our survival and our thriving! My purpose and work on this planet got even more clear to me! I had added to my thus far 20 year process of becoming not only an artist but an educator of how we the people can build our own dreams and live life how its truly meant to be lived with our own inner agency through the support and power of the planet itself. The missing link to having the complete formula for how to live life on our own terms was developing a financial acumen, knowing ancestrally that all commerce is derived from nature, the final pieces I have been assembling over the last 5 years is to build generation financial wealth and the codes have been cracked. I am now on a mission to impact as many people as possible with this financial knowledge, I use the tools of traditional Hiphop music and ecological design to spread the message and connect people to the information, knowledge, resources and communities that can support them in taking their time and finances back into their own control instead of being controlled by their finances and having most of their time on this planet consumed in the pursuit of an hourly wage to pay the bills. My business and brand is not only redefining the popular image of what it is to be a Hiphop artist from being all about drugs, sex and violence into health, wealth and caring deeply for ones self and others,. My business and brand is also redefining what it is to be financially wealthy and abundant from being about total disregard and destruction of our planet’s ecosystems and the utter abuse of those people with less resources and only allotted to those willing to be evil, extractive and exploitive of people and animals into a movement that regenerate and revitalizes people and planet to ensure the many generations that follow us have healthy supportive environments to be born into, grow up and thrive in. My work on this planet is advancing all “earth” and computer technology. It’s deep! And it is taking the ultimate risk….Going against the grain of popular culture that obsesses and dominates our collective mind with death and destruction, pitting people against each other in a relentless pursuit of self serving interests. My entire life is a risk at this point I am a 40 year old Hiphop artist, ecological designer and educator, business owner, financial education advocate and real estate investor. My entire life has been the definition of risk taking. Thus far I have made only a small impact on this world and my dreams, desires, obsession, and definiteness of purpose to spreading this way of living worldwide reaffirms those feelings I had as a youngster that I would be up to something legendary and of greatness in this life. It’s all on the line and the risk of refusing to fit in with the status quo, bending my will to the powers that be and instead living my life on my own terms is evident in my challenges to reach the masses of people with this work, making my biz and brand a household name. To make living on own our own terms, designing and building our own dreams the norm in our collective consciousness and in our actions is the ultimate risk and it’s worth it in every moment!

This is what I am most proud of about myself, I took the chance or the risk and betted on myself, becoming a more open minded and coachable person, and continuously putting myself and my biz around those that expand my comfort zone and inspire me to push through my self limits. We are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with! That means if you hang out with 5 depressed, broke, cynical, negative, know-it-all people chances are you will be the 6th. On the contrary if you are constantly using your time to be around 5 wealthy, compassionate, creative, coachable, consistent, visionary thought leaders chances are you will be the 6th! So the question is…..how are you using your most valuable resource (TIME) on this planet? What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
New Prosper LLC is my marketing and direct sales business, it started off as a side hustle to my main gig of being an artist/educator and ecological designer. There was a learning curve to develop sales and marketing skills. I had never viewed myself as a salesman (now I know that true sales, quality sales is service and I can only truly maximize how I help folks after I sale to them) and I for 15 years was sleeping on the importance of sales and marketing in every business venture. Proof in the fact that I am just now starting to get my music career positioned to be noticed in the industry independently, After 15 years of having big dreams to travel the world with my loved ones performing my music and setting up eco developments along the way, not having any systems in place to do that made my dreams virtually impossible to achieve. I had reached a crossroads….I was over being a broke over worked under appreciated artist/educator with no wealth or land of my own to practice and implement ecological design on. With the opening of my new marketing and direct sales business, collecting commissions and building a community and team of likeminded individuals became an extremely empowering process, proving to be the missing link to my business systems. I went from making a low 5 figures annually and sometimes 4 figures annually with 4 kids and a wife! Living in a manufactured home to generating 5 figures monthly and becoming a homeowner of a property in Boulder, CO free and clear. I started this financial education journey as a starving artist/educator with no credit and no business systems in place or network and community of supporters to growing a business organization to several dozens of partners that have make hundreds of sales, impacting hundreds of people financial wellness and ability to live their dreams and take control of their financial situations. We have raised over a million dollars in funds for financial education and real estate deals and generated several six figures in income. This is what allowed me the freedoms to go on my first official national tour with the legendary Bay Area Hiphop/rap collective (and some of my personal heroes) The Hieroglyphics in May of 2019 and within the last 3 years I have help design and implement several ecological design projects for clients as well! We are just getting started and my business goals this year of 2022 is to impact 100 principal centered entrepreneurs and hard working people’s lives directly with the financial knowledge and tools to become business owners and real estate investor so they can not have to worry about money and trading their most precious resource time chasing chump change just to pay the bill and live their true soul purpose on this planet, shifting the trajectory of our global society.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my business and clientele has been word of mouth! My business model is primarily a belly to belly biz. People have to know, trust and like me. I am inviting them into a community of lifetime support where they have to make a significant investment in themselves to access the tools, knowledge and resources to alter their financial trajectory for generations to come. Its a major life decision I am offering people, similar to buying a house or paying a college tuition. I don’t take it lightly, it’s a high ticket, highly valuable, the beginning of a potentially multi million dollar enterprise for anyone willing to go through with the opportunity I am presenting to them.
