Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Sovich. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Daniel, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Hey there, thanks for having me! So I spent the last two years down in Nashville, TN. I created a band called DISCOFOX and we’ve been playin round town and most recently playing gigs outside of town in Cleveland, OH and Las Vegas. I started a project at the top of the year to record a song and put it out every month. We’ve got two left to go!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I was an actor my whole life and after landing my first Broadway show, Almost Famous, back in 2019, I had to pivot before it opened due to the Coronavirus shutdown. I moved to Nashville, taught myself guitar, began writing music and by the end of my two year tenure had recorded 16 songs.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Teaching myself guitar during the shutdown instead of wallowing in pity when my first big break (booking Almost Famous) was taken from me.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love being in the Driver’s seat. My mind is always racing with different projects and new ways to improve current ones. Being in charge and getting to have creative control over who to bring into the band, what i write about, where we play, what we get paid/comped, etc. It’s nice to be in a position where I can not only respect musicians the way I wish I’d been treated working for others, but to take it a step further and really allow my shows to be not only a showcase for my music but of each member’s musicianship as well.
