Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alli Beauchamp. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alli, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a customer success story with us?

I spend the majority of my time styling family photo sessions, both directly and through photographer partners who include this service to their clients, however recently I put together a trip capsule for someone going to Mexico for a friends wedding. She recently had a baby and is navigating the common overwhelm of being a new mom, and everything that comes with it.

When I delivered her personalized trip capsule, complete with outfit ideas for all of the wedding events, as well as travel days, beach days and even tourist days, she was amazed. I was able to work with a few things she already had and loved, and provided shopping links to recommended items to add for her trip and overall wardrobe. She loved the ease of it all being virtual and was especially grateful for weeding through all of the “noise” that online shopping is and having a smaller, curated selection just for her. It was also a useful packing list!

She was so happy with her Personalized Wardrobe Capsule experience, that she asked me to put together another one for an upcoming work trip.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m Allison, but as my friends do – call me Alli! I live in Minneapolis, MN with my husband, three kids and puggle Chloe. Fashion and personal styling have always been passions of mine, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help others look and feel their best.

As a working mom of three, I am well aware of the challenges family photos and special events can create. From choosing outfits, to budgeting, to coordinating – an up coming event on the calendar can quickly turn from fun to dreaded. While planning my own family photo sessions I wished there was an easy way to shop for everyone so I could put my energy into creating memories. And as my youngest says, Ta-Da! That idea is how Allison Beauchamp Styling was born!

I believe that personal style is something that should evolve over time. Your style should reflect your lifestyle, and include only things you love and feel comfortable in. What you wear for photos, special events or everyday activities should embody your true, unique self, and make you feel amazing.

I work directly with clients styling family photos or events, or curating personalized capsule wardrobes for each season or trip. Everything is done virtually, either over zoom, the phone or even email! It can be used purely for inspiration or use the shopping links to simply gather everything needed.

I also work with photography partners who provide this styling service for their clients! They are able to elevate the client experience and I offer them a special photography partner discounted rate.

In my 20+ years of styling experience, I have learned that no two people have the same style needs, and each family member has their own personality as well. I have experience working with many different body types and budgets. Finding the perfect pieces that inspire and highlight each person is my favorite part of working with others.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The small business community is filled with incredibly smart and hardworking people! I love the idea of working together and I wanted to find a way to fill a need in other small businesses. I started working with photographers and offering to style their family photo session clients with a personalized style board experience. The process is wonderfully simple, they give my schedule link to their clients who find a time to share the information with me via zoom, phone or email. I provide a curated style board for their upcoming family session and they feel confident and fabulous during their session. At the end of the month, I invoice the photographer for the clients that I helped (at a special discounted rate for photography partners). It’s a win win, as their clients experience is elevated, it provides a solution to a common roadblock to why people don’t get family pictures taken and the result is a beautifully coordinated family session!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

I believe providing an amazing client experience will be one of the most effective methods to growing your business. It may not be the fastest way to big numbers, but it is a way to long term success.
