We recently connected with Indrea Gordon and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Indrea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My FWOL program which is fashion without limitations. We feature children and young adults with special needs on our runways across the world.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a fashion designer specializing in all things sexy at the office. I focus on the female entrepreneur because they always need to look the part. They have busy lifestyles and not much time to focus on wardrobe. I focus on creating pieces for the female entrepreneur that will allow them to transition easily from the office to night life. What sets me apart from others is that my client engaged in a full experience. Not just shopping for another piece of clothing. I build my clients from the inside out making sure they feel as important as they are. I am most proud of the lives I’ve touched through my craft talking to people about Christ and being an example of his goodness is what I’m most proud of. What I want clients to know most about my brand is that we truly care about the total body not just the look we want people to be empowered and feel like whatever God has called them to be
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think creatives need to focus on NFT‘s. This is sort of a new world for me so it’s hard for me to follow but I do understand the importance of it and think that it is necessary and that there is a future for growth in this area and an opportunity to make a butt load of money.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson that I had to unlearn and it is still a work in progress. I have to consistently tell myself that I am enough. I am launching a book end it is called Fashionably speaking, clean up your life so that your business can soar. A lot of our preconceived thoughts of ourselves leak over into our businesses. If we have low self-esteem or struggle with loving ourselves we will price our items according to what we feel we are worth. For example at one point in my business I struggled with loving myself I didn’t see much self value so I could not see myself how other people viewed me as a designer therefore I price my custom garments at a very low rate thinking that I was all it was worth. When the lightbulb finally came on I was able to charge $1000 and more per garment and people paid it with no problem.
