We recently connected with Nick Hansinger and have shared our conversation below.
Nick, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I didn’t necessarily want to be a musician. I just didn’t have any better ideas, and it was something I was good at, so I stuck with it. And as committed as I was to it, I always had an idea that there was something beyond the box I put myself in.
I played professionally for over 25 years, freelancing in the MetroDetroit area, and the one common denominator in just about every gig was anxiety. It stressed me out to perform. Gradually this led me down the path of mindset and peak performance. And from there it was a short leap to personal development and spirituality. And from there another short leap into the healing arts.
My fascination with the human condition is something I always came back to. Why we are the way we are. Why we choose the things we choose. How very small we are, and how powerful.
My experience in music taught me that it is truly the universal language that connects on levels that we don’t fully understand. Music taps a primal force- for better or worse- in all of us.
Vedanta philosophy taught me that we are inextricably linked to everything and all that is. Innately perfect, no matter what our mind tells us.
My work in healing showed me that healing is the bridge from where we are to wherever we want to go. That all of us have insecurities and fears manifesting in endless variations. And as those things are healed, we return to our natural state- whole, well, a perfect and unique expression of the creative force.
That’s why Mystic Sound Healing™ is the most meaningful project I’ve worked on. Personally, it brings together all of my life experiences in a fun and creative way- and having fun is very important in my world.
But beyond that, I see Mystic Sound Healing™ as bridge that literally anyone can access to find more happiness and well-being in their lives.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As a creative professional, I rely on my creativity in many forms to sustain me. I know and have worked with many creatives who struggle with their process, often feel blocked, and more importantly, struggle with perfectionism and low self-esteem.
Our world isn’t set up to nurture the creative spirit, so it’s critical that creatives know how to nurture all the different aspects of themselves. This is one of the main reasons I created “A Course in Self Love.” Mystic Sound Healing™ is a doorway into that deeper work.
Countless meaningful projects have been killed by self-doubt before they ever get the chance to be something. So many artists torture themselves with self-criticism, doubt, and indecision. And so many creative spirits remain trapped because it doesn’t feel safe, or practical, to let them out.
I believe that Self Love is the answer to every problem our world faces today.
I’m not talking about simple self care practices, or self-aggrandizement. I’m talking about a truly healthy and grounded relationship with yourself. One that nurtures your unique gifts and talents to find expression in the world. A deep understanding of who and what you, so clear that the pressures of the world to be and act a certain way hold absolutely no sway over you.
The kind of Self Love that releases all pressure, internal and external, so you can live in your natural state of creative expression.
For every single one of us, the totality of our life experiences are filtered through our perception of the world, which is a reflection of our perception of ourselves. That perception is a relationship we’ve created with ourselves based on the stories we’ve been told, the beliefs we’ve adopted, and countless other external factors.
The fastest and most powerful way to change every aspect of your life for the better is to improve your relationship with yourself. Easier said than done. I get it. Which is why I broke it down into Five Foundations of Self Love.
Self Respect. Self Care, Self Acceptance, Self Trust, and Self Actualization.
Mastering even one foundation will improve your happiness and confidence in profound ways. Mastering all five will set you free.
That’s my wish. For every person, and every being to be happy, healthy, and free to be exactly who they are.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I don’t believe there is such a thing as “Non-creatives.” Creativity is something that is expressed just by being alive.
Sure, you may not make music, or paint a picture, or think of a world changing innovation, but that doesn’t mean you’re not creative. Once you understand that “creative” is something you could never not be, you’ll start looking at your work with a fresh perspective.
My bookkeeper has a way of working with numbers that is incredibly creative.
COOs I’ve worked with who didn’t think of themselves as creative, yet create systems and structures that support hundreds of jobs and serve thousands of people.
My barista doesn’t think she’s creative, yet she has a way of connecting with every person who steps up to the counter. Incredible.
If you’re still struggling to connect with that part of yourself, I’ll give you a hint, it’s the thing that comes most natural to you. The thing you discount because it’s too “easy.” That’s your creative spirit. That’s your magic.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The Artist’s Way remains one of my all time favorites for personal development and learning how to recover and nurture your creative resources.
The Vedanta Treatise by Swami Parthasarathy is literally the only book you’ll ever need on spirituality. It takes you right from the basics of understanding what a human being is, all the way to the ultimate experience.
Swami Parthasarathy also wrote a book called Governing Business and Relationships that I recommend every business owner read.
No list would be complete without The Four Agreements. So simple. So profound. And Don Miguel Ruiz understands the innate creativity in all of us.
I also think learning to write passable sales copy is something every human being could benefit from. To that end, The Adweek Copyrighting Handbook is a great place to start.
