We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Asia Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Asia, appreciate you joining us today. How has Covid changed your business model?

During Covid My Business Really Took A Turn For The better! my business really got turned up a knotch && has been more successful ever since then. That’s wen I released my hair extensions and it Turned Out To Be The Best Thing I Ever Did In Life. It Really Changed My Life && Ive Made More Money Than I’ve Ever Made in my business.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

How I Got into the industry I started off by playing in my own hair fixing styles back that I would go and get done at the hair salon. Also I had friends that would test my limits and have me try things on them when I wasn’t confident enough to think I could do it. It was this one style that stuck with me I tried it on a friend once it was terrible but she’s liked it I didn’t and than I tried it again and that second time was bomb and those were wand curls and ever since then I took off and was getting booked like crazy. Ever since then I’ve been going up && exploring in the hair world. I started going to school for cosmetology because I saw all the clients I was getting off of just curls so I thought maybe I should explore and try to do other things which also brought me more money. I disciplined myself by buckling down on myself making sacrifices so I could get through school and also take care my son at the time so meaning I would cut my hours from my job just to be at school to further my education and get my degree in cosmetology & I did graduated after a year of attending cosmetology school. I am a master cosmetologist/ entrepreneur but entrepreneur full time I do hair from time to time I sell hair extensions, hair care products, hair accessories, hair tools. Ive tested my products for a while to make sure that I serve my customers with A1 Quality. What sets me apart from the rest is that I take different routes & try and do & sell different things that would make me stand out & set me aside from others. What I am most proud of is that I didn’t dream of my business being successful as it is & I must say it is very successful and that I am so grateful for. About my brand you will always get a different feel from others & I guarantee you with the quality that I have and the service that I provide you will always come back.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source of new clients for me is once I added selling hair extensions to my business. This is one thing that made my business more successful than ever!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Something I had to learn is that everybody is not going to support you family, or friends. strangers are gonna always be your biggest supporters more than others. so I always be consistent and push & promote my business on a daily.
