We were lucky to catch up with Jeneifer Threadcraft recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeneifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
I got my first job in this field when I did my first internship with my mentor Dr. Taunya Lowe. She asked me to come out and work with her on a mock audit for CARF. I worked closely with the doctor who owned the practiced that we were helping to prepare for up and coming audit. At the end of the audit my mentor contacted me and told me that Dr. Yusvf had an interest in hiring me. I took the job as a her office manager and from that I went into the field; where I started seeing youth and adolescents with behavior issues and depression.

Yes I can, being that I was a teen mom at the age of 14. I have been through so many different life changing issues from being raped at the ages 11 and 15. I was a single mom of 4 and it was not easy. I have had two of my boys to go to prison before, been evicted and lost my brother and son to domestic violence. I lost my son in October 2020.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Being out in the public and working directly with the community. Having my non-profit helps out a lot as well because we meet so many people that are in need.
