We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tiana Ochoa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tiana below.
Tiana, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new firm – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?
I got my first client by embracing the community and the community embraced me back..

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I started Tiana Ochoa Mortgage & Real Estate Services in 2010, but I have been in the business since 2003.
I began as an entry level loan processor. Being an entry level loan processor allowed me to learn every part of the lending process from beginning to end.
In 2003 I opened The Lending Group (different name, same great service) and operated it until 2010.
I’ve always had a passion for Real Estate and understood the importance of owning property, both Commercial or Residential.
Prior to working in the Mortgage and Real Estate industry, I worked as a Legal Assistant at two big law firms here in Houston. The attention to detail and the knowledge I gained as a Legal Assistant prepared me for this business.
I am bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish.
I enjoy problem solving and overcoming obstacles. I also take pride in the education I give my clients about the home buying process.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve worked on a wide range of files, contracts, scenarios, and applications. There isn’t a scenario I haven’t seen and no two applications are ever the same.
I embrace the challenges my clients have from solving a Debt to Income Ratio issue to explaining the process.
I love being a part of the American Dream.
Although I am 100 % dedicated to my business and clients, my family does come first! I am married and the mother of 3 amazing daughters and step mother to 1 pretty cool son.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
We have realistic conversations and set realistic-tangible goals. Doing this allows us all to work towards one common goal and that’s closing on their real estate transaction with the absolute best deal that will meet their individual needs.
