Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Glen Glasper. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Glen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I came with the name of my firm out of a need for people to understand that what we do in business of real estate is not a game nor is it something to be taking lightly.
While real estate investing is one of the top most lucrative ways to generate wealth, many do not consider all that is involved in doing things the right way to sustain a long term lucrative business. Many want to take short cuts to just make a little money here or there, but do no consider that’s all involved with creating long term generational wealth.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into real estate investing out of a need to have a place to live. I was homeless when I found out I could also make money in real estate, so I decided that I would water two seeds with one hose. By getting a home and making money in the business of obtaining a new home.
The service I provide is twofold. I help people by providing rea life real estate solutions to real life real estate situations. Whether homeowners are behind on their payments or just want to get out of a property that they no longer want, I’m able to help. The other part is I help busy/professional individuals invest in real estate and build a portfolio without having to be involved in the day to day management, while still creating residual cashflow.
I am most proud of the people I have the privilege of serving on a day-to-day basis. Whether it’s helping people with their credit, so that they can obtain funding to begin investing in real estate or helping those that already have the resources to get off to a great start building their portfolios and creating cashflow. I am just glad to be in a position where I can serve and show people a better way.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The most significant lesson I can say I learned is not to attempt to do everything on my own and to not be afraid of asking for help and hiring a mentor or coach.
The backstory is that when I got started I asked for help from a lot of the wrong people that were not in real estate and nearly got nowhere, so I took on the idea that I would do everything all on my own, but I was later exposed to people that were familiar with the business of real estate investing that I could learn from. However, it wasn’t until after I had made several mistakes that I finally made the decision to hire a mentor to guide me through the many pitfalls and landmines that are often involved in the real estate business.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe the one major thing that help my reputation is staying consistent at what I do and helping people along the way. The other very thing I would say that has helped me tremendously in my market is developing relationships and maintaining those relationships.
