Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erikka French. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Erikka, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I have been an artist since 2009, I started performing at the local clubs and the music scene here in Kansas City. I have been singing since I was 3 yrs old and rapping since I was 12 years old.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Music has always been my life, and I’m very passionate about it. My influences were artist like Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Mary J.Blige. Watching them in the business inspired me to chase my dreams. I am a different artist music wise and I write what is on my heart.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I started posting my music on MySpace and fb. Started networking with other artist and engineers and they helped me get noticed.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My children are the driving force which keeps me going. Creative and artist expressions is what I want my children to embrace and be their selves and make beautiful art.
