We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gregory (Dj G-Low) Long a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Gregory (Dj G-Low), appreciate you joining us today. Innovation comes in all shapes, sizes and across all industries, so we’d love to hear about something you’ve done that you feel was particularly innovative.
The Most innovative thing I’ve done in my career would probably putting together the idea of our Promotional Radio Network.For Independent Artist. At the moment we have accumulated 63k+ listeners every month in over 30+ countries worldwide. Helping Independent Artist get their music out to be heard by our listeners where if not for our radio station Network playing only Independent Artist Music some of the artist were playing daily wouldn’t get heard. we have accumulated 15 stations at the moment in our Network. Owned by artist, labels, venues, managers and industry influencers that are involved with the project to help Independent Artist with promotion and radio play. As well as helping educate the Independent Artist about the Music industry and the Things they need to be doing to become better artist aswell as advancing to the next level in their careers and providing the artist with more exposure, show and tour opportunities.

Well, I’m Gregory(Dj G-Low)Long. I’m the owner Of DBNFAMNORTH RECORDINGS Independent Record Label, DBNFAMNORTH RECORDINGS Recording Studio Located in the Beautiful Western NY FootHills of The Enchanted Mountains. We’re Located In Allegany, NY. I Also Own THE DBNFAM UNDERGROUND RADIO NETWORK, A 16 Station Radio Station Network. We Have Stations Located Around The World, Nigeria, South Africa, NYC, Western NY, Chicago, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, and other Major Cities. We Specialize in Helping Promote Independent Artist Get their Music and Stories out to the Public and Promotional Services For Artist. We Have Various Major Artist Who Work With us and Who’s Music We Promote and Break New Music for Such as Solomon Child’s of The Wu Tang Clan, Tribe Life Assassin’s, Dougie-D of The Guerilla Maab, along with Various Other Houston Artist, Smokey The Bandit 2nd Generation Bone Thugs N Harmony Family, And Many More. We Try to Help Out independent Artist as much as possible by educating them to the music industry as well as The in and outs of what they need to be doing in order to be able to Farther their careers in the industry. We also provide artist with Placement Opportunities For Showcases, Interviews, and Performances with our partner venues, aswell as other Services. I’m Also A 28+ Year Veteran In the Music Industry, I was Mentored and Blessed into the music Buisness in 94 by Dj Screw(Houston). I’m a Current member of 3 Major Dj Coalitions (Coast2Coast Mixtapes, Nerve Mixtapes, and MaddCircle WorldWide Mixtape DJs). I’m one of Western NY’S Premier Producers and Engineers. I’m a 3 x (XMA Award Winning Artist)(2017 best new HipHop Single, 2018 Best New Christian Hiphop Single, and 2020 Best New Independent HipHop Album) I’ve Worked and Colaborated With Various Artist Worldwide. And Through out My music Career I’ve Dedicated A Big Potion of My Time to helping New and UpComing Artist Break into the Music Industry. And I’m also the owner and Programmer of 2 RokuTv Stations of my own. I’m Affiliated with Various Groups and Artist aswell, S.U.C., JMACTV, S.E.C.G.,DBN FAMILY, Solomon Child’s of The Wu Tang Clan, Homilitex of Tribe Life Assassin’s to name a few. At the Moment I’m in the process of Writing and Recording My Latest Studio Album”Truely Blessed Due out Around the 1st of the Year in 2023. Which I can say is Going to be an awesome crossover HipHop/RNB & Pop Album. Witch includes Features From Some Really Talented artist, some of Which are Billboard Charting Artist Already. We Currently Have Another Project in the Works With Coast Runners a Tribe Life Studio’s Project.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My Best Source of New Clients Has Came From Being A Club Dj through out the US, Word of Mouth from other customers, as well as having worked and Colaborated with the Many Artist and Producers I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years. And I sure Can not Forget The Various Connections I’ve Made Over The years in the music and Entertainment industry. I’ve Definitely been Blessed To Fall into the right crowds with the right people who have Been Real From the start and Are still there today.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
My Advice for Management Teams and Maintaining A High Morale. Is To always Stay Positive, and even if You take a Set Back, Pick yourself back up and Keep Moving forward. I’ve learned Over The years that Situations, Struggles, Good Times, etc. Are all Temporary in this life. So if you’re struggling and facing Down Time. Take that time to regroup, make plans, and Do what ever you don’t usually have time for on a daily basis. Like Rest and Recuperating from The Tedious Daily responsibility you normally Have on your plate. Because, once that short season of down time passes. Things will pick back up and depending on the seeds you planted During that downtime, Things Could Take off on A totally different Level and Totally engulf you in the up time. So Stay on Top of Everything and Never Give Up My Motto in Life Has always Been “The only Thing I Find impossible is Losing”. Because in order for me to lose at anything. I have to lay it down and just give up. And I’m Way to Motivated for that to happen. I’ll take a loss and Keep it moving. Charge it to the game.. we all do. The thing is. To never let anything Keep you Down, to get back up, on track and back moving forward again. Life will never stand still and wait for you. That’s a fact.
