Shae , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?

I wish it was as easy as it sounds, success. I mean. Success comes from many sectors of life, it’s something that I have prayed for for a long time. Lol, It’s something I’m still praying for and working on currently. Success requires determination, focus, motivation, and action. Those are the key elements that got me to my level of success today.

I wake up everyday and make a game plan on how I can be more successful than the day before. I set a goal or sometimes even multiple goals for the day to spark my determination. Then, I focus. Focusing can be a challenge, a lot of times I have to DND my phone and isolate myself from the outside world to get things done. Doing those things without motivation almost means nothing. I can’t see myself being determined or focused on anything without motivation. Every morning I motivate myself with affirmations, “I am wealthy, I am healthy, I am joyful, I am abundant, I am successful, I am full of love”, and more. Following that I set my goals for the day and motivate myself to reach those goals. Nothing goes without action! “Just do it”, like Nike said. Your thoughts can live endlessly in your head, but to bring your thoughts and goals to life by just doing it makes the world go around. I swear nothing is impossible, you can do it. First, you just have to start doing it and do it everyday. No matter what your passion is, you can make it happen. That’s your luxury.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Greetings, I’m Antionett Eady, but my stage name is Shae Balboa. I am a music Producer/Engineer, and I also Dj. I started making music around four years ago, after fiddling around with music Daws for a while I began to learn the technical aspect of Daws and creating music. I decided to enroll in online classes at Icon Collective College of Music. There I learned about Music theory, Engineering, Songwriting, Music production, and so much more. Within two years I received my certification in Music Production, Music Engineering, and Songwriting. Around this time I found a love for mixing music on a dj controller, this combination opened my mind to a whole new world. I thought to myself “I can create music and release it to a crowd myself, if I’m both the Producer and Dj.”. So why not? Ever since then, I’ve been doing just that. Shortly after graduating I created and applied for my LLC, Shae Balboa LLC, to be exact. I opened up a music studio and I started to dj at various events, it was literally the best decision I’ve ever made. My career is something I absolutely love!

Shae Balboa LLC means the world to me, it’s my way to connect with artists, musicians, and Dj’s around the world. Shae Balboa LLC is a full functioning recording studio with me, Shae Balboa, as your Producer, Engineer, and or Dj. I create unique beats, mix & master, and write music for artists. I’ve worked with many artists in a variety of genres, from Rap, R&B, Dembow, Country, Pop, Club music, House Music, and Afro beats just to name a few. Along with all those generes came a rainbow of so many different people, getting to bring an artist’s vision to life excites me. There’s nothing better to me than an artist’s reaction when hearing their song play back through the speakers after recording. It’s always a rush of excitement and joy, I’m so here for that. Let’s not forget about the Djing aspect of it all, in the studio I also have a designated area where Dj’s can come record their mixes or simply practice on a controller. I also Dj public and private events, anywhere from clubs, lounges, and bars, all the way up to weddings, birthday parties, fashion shows, album releases, and concerts. Getting to move a room with music is truly magical to me. Whether it’s putting the crowd on to new music or dropping an oldie but goodie, seeing the crowd react to music holds a place in my heart. I love Djing! I get to dance with everyone to my favorite songs, I get to sing my heart out with everyone, and I get to meet amazing people. What else could I ask for? Those moments drive me to happiness. There’s no other career I’d rather have. Music is my life and producing music and Djing is my way of living it. What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

My key elements for growing my clientele has been to promote, network, and invest. Promoting yourself on social media or in person has been a huge door opener for Shae Balboa LLC. I’ve met most of my customers via social media after posting flyers, reels, or even TikTok’s. Then here comes the fun part, getting to network with all the spectacular people I meet. Putting your name out there and getting to know people is very important. I gain clientele via word of mouth just as much as from social media. You never know who knows who, don’t hesitate to reach out. Investing also holds a major part in my growth of clientele. Investing in your logo, website, business cards, social media advertising, and radio advertising plays big parts in different ways. The more people know who you are, the more your clientele grows.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

We all know how easy it is to give up. At the beginning it was so tough, I wanted to give up so many times. Investing all of your money into your dream sounds crazy to some, no one really believed in me in the beginning. I kept working harder and harder to prove not only to the non-believers, but also to myself that I could do it. I stuck out the process of getting my LLC and opening my business accounts. I then invested everything I had into my business to get the needed gear to run my studio and to dj. With that, blessings kept coming my way, I started to get clients in my studio and getting booked for Dj gigs. It’s in no way, shape, or form as easy as it sounds but with hard work and dedication I finally started to see it all pay off. I feel like the more successful you are, the harder the work you have to do. I’m all here for it, I constantly chant “Never give up! Just do it!” to myself. You have to stay focused, strong, and resilient at all times in this industry.
