Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Calvin Hines . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Calvin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Dedication, consistency, & believing in yourself
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Calvin Hines. I’ve been in the detailing industry for 10 years. We specialize in higher end detailing. We service our clients at their location, hospital, office, etc. we offer standard detailing up to our full service. We also offer our elite ceramic coating protection packages. Something new we have launched this year is our product line to assist customers who would like to do their own vehicles themselves. What sets us apart is our presentation, consistency, prompt service, & attention to detail. I know as a business owner that customers like their vehicles done in a timely manner because let’s face it, people are busy. This is what sets us apart. We know that once the customer gets it one time they’ll become our regulars. What I’m most proud of is that this business has opened up many doors to other businesses that I own. With the help of my lovely wife we’ve built something incredible. We want our clients to feel pampered whenever they have a service done by us.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
The time that I wanted to start my business I didn’t have any money in fact me and my wife both agreed that if we’re going to do this we’re going to go all In. My goal was to build this small business to the point where it funds more businesses and set us both up for success. so how I got the capital was I started out going to Walmart and buying all retail products and a garden hose I would charge Customers $20 for a wash and $75 for a full detail so I wouldn’t buy everything all at once I would buy a little here and there and eventually overtime I will upgrade until I got to the level that I am now. it took a lot of hard work lotta trying times. broke times people were laughing at me because car washing seem to be beneath people. Looking back it was a humbling experience.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
I met my wife (cofounder) 11 years ago through mutual friends. We both had the same views. To open a business, help fund other businesses and to retire young.
