We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Quadir Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Quadir, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Almost every entrepreneur we know has considered donating a portion of their sales to an organization or cause – how did you make the decision of whether to donate? We’d love to hear the backstory if you’re open to sharing the details.
we Donte the profits from the sale of our print copies to @ourhousega. A safe place for women and children based in Atlanta.
Quadir, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Originally from Atlantic City NJ I moved to Atlanta 12 years ago in pursuit of new opportunities in the creative media industry. After working as a photographer for years My partner Molo @moshualoriel and I started our own podcast, Molo In The City Podcast. It was there I discovered my passion for being the executive producer on creative projects and gigs.
Forward to now, as CEO of In The City Magazine myself and my team has been able to consistently release 30 DOPE magazine issues over the past 3.5 years.
In The City Magazine is a bi-monthly print and digital publication licensed in Atlanta, GA. Each volume of our publication features leaders of culturally rich cities infused with exceptional art, artists, business and fashion pioneers from around the nation respectfully. In The City Magazine is locally distributed to an exclusive chain of boutique hotels, studios and businesses particularly around the Atlanta area and even shipped around the nation. Our past issues feature a few folks you may know and can be viewed through our website at Home | In the city
Our magazine office and studio is located in midtown Atlanta where we also do photo and video production. Please feel free to stop by and do some some business. This media and entertainment industry is growing more and more, these days everyone needs a EPK.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I’m old school so my best source has been basically, word of mouth. We try to maintain good working relations with our business partners and clients. Yes it gets overwhelming at times but we know that when we are focused and diligent we come out on top.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson for is from now on is to treat everyone as a business. I sometimes believe we all already have our best friends in life.
