We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Treslin Aiko. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Treslin below.
Hi Treslin, thanks for joining us today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
Hey Guys! I’m Treslin Aiko I’m 24 Artist/singer-Songwriter from a small town in Texas Called “Malakoff”. Your next Big Trans artist out! Music is my passion , it helps me escape the reality we live in today! Music was a gift to me from god to express my emotions and pain of what we all went through! At the age of 10 year old I was raped by a man, and my man hood was stolen at that time I fought through the phase until I prayed to god to heal me and to let the trauma “Make me, not break me” I was raised by independent women which was my mother, grandma and her 6 sisters which were my aunts! I never really had a father figure in my life cause my dad left me when I was 1 years old! As I got older my feminine out balanced my masculine in certain areas my family didn’t like it but there opinions nor anybody else’s NEVER stopped me … that’s when I took music to the next level , took people words and let it motivate and build the person they always wanted to fail but SUCCEED! 2018-2019 I made it on international tv show “American idol” as a contestant it took me 5 years to get on the show! I started my first audition when I was a freshman in high school ! By the time I graduated I finally made it completely on the show to where they advertised me international! That was one of my goals I reached that I always wanted to do thru that time phase of auditioning all them years my so called family and friends were rooting for me at first until the 3rd year of me auditioning and I couldn’t get past the last round which was the “executive producer round” I started then seeing people switch up after when from “Go Treslin” to “why is he/she still auditioning for this show” so one year which my senior year I told myself I was gonna audition one more time but keep it to myself until I got past that round I always lost out on by the grace of god he moved me thru but not because that was my time ! but to show me that the area I was repping where my actually friends or fans and that to stop fighting for something that’s not worth fighting for ! When everybody heard the news that I was official on the show it went back to “go Treslin” “that’s my boy/girl” just the fakery , it went from my phone being completely dry to receiving thousands of phone calls like I was already a celebrity crazing things! Remind you I was still presented as a Guy just feminine, last year of 2021 after I lost out top 40 on American idol I went into “transition” didn’t know what was going on I just excepted the fact and keep it pushing because it was finally making me happy something I haven’t felt in a long time! Strong people smile 24/20 so you’d never know when where going through things #Aplha after I went through my phase of refinding myself, reloving myself and reconnecting with myself I found my true self as of 2022 I decided to step back out with my gifts to the world! Just because god transition me from my old self to a new person for a new beginning DOESNT eliminate my gifts he has given me , just because the world labeled me something I’m not doesn’t mean one of Gods Chosen ones we all have a purpose and I’m just living mine! #transBetter
