Aaliyah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I always wanted my own business and being my own boss . Creating my own business is the best decision I ever made

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Starting my business was hard to having a regular 9-5 job and trying to start my business at the same time . So I had to make a choice as to keep my job working every single day and not happy and only having 2 days off every week to sleep and rest up for the next days of work or quit and start my business and focus on what makes me happy and that’s what I did to make myself happy and be my own boss and I love it , I started doing my own hair in 2019 practicing on myself and loved to get my hair done all the time and I then I started practicing on family members and watching videos to learn more because I always want to be a hairstylist that specializes in braids in locs I’ve learned how to do every single thing that I’m great at now because I taught myself so now I’m self taught . My business is growing over time by patience and always being consistent and by practice and trying new things . As of now I specialize in knotless braids and butterfly locs , soft locs and distressed locs and everyday I learn more and more so I can expand my business and I have goals that I want to accomplish before 2023 is over for other braiders and hairstylist as well that is coming really soon and I’m so excited about it .but what I’m mostly proud of is the business woman I’m becoming and how much I’ve grown and growing my mind set while doing it . What sets me apart from other is I think that I’m always determined to do something that I set my mind to and I’m always going to do what makes me happy never for others and if anyone wants to start a business do it , don’t let anyone tell you otherwise because it’s for you and always make sure it’s something that you love to do because if not it tends to get boring and you wouldn’t want to do it anymore.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Social media is always good for building new clients you always have to be consistent on your post making sure people are engaging so they could follow and see more of what you’re post and if they like it they would book/buy it and always make sure your post are clear and post that people want to see making sure it’s post worthy

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Building a name for myself I think that has a major part in where I am now with my business and getting my business out in the world so I can get more clients and my social medias are gaining followers
