Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Steven Gumby. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Steven, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew I wanted to pursue an artistic path professionally once I was introduced to a paint and sip session. Once I saw the actual physical craft come to life I knew art could been seen differently from all eyes. Furthermore, I wanted to be able to bring beauty to life to other non-crafters.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I’m Steven Gumby, an outgoing spontaneous all around guy who pursued the art industry in result of seeing limitlessness in color contrasts come to the forefront as one in canvases of all sizes. The Gumby Artistry provides a diversity of pieces from canvas to panel art. These pieces are customer preference. I believe what sets The Gumby Artistry apart from others is my technique knowledge background that is utilized when creating the “ideal piece.” I am most proud of the joy that is being displayed through the art in homes of my clients. Because beautiful art doesn’t have any age, race, or contingency to be judged.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society can focus more on the positive versus the negative when it comes to the appeal process. Because art sometimes may tend to be misunderstood when looked at from a multitude of different views.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes, two specific artists that have impacted my entrepreneurial journey through technique and ideas are Molly with “Molly Artistry” and Rnske Douna. Molly taught both how to manage/mix color pigments and the creation of paint process. Rnske on the other hand, taught both the blow and breathe techniques for the Dutch pour process. Both these artists are an inspiration to the artist I am today.
