We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Orellano recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. Day to day the world can seem like a tough place, but there’s also so much kindness in the world and we think talking about that kindness helps spread it and make the world a nicer, kinder place. Can you share a story of a time when someone did something really kind for you?
Baking Cakes Open Doors I Never Knew Existed! & I Mean That In The Most Humblest Of Ways .
I’ve Met Alot Of Amazing People Thru My Cake Business. People I wouldn’t have cross paths with if it wasn’t for cakes! I am a Tampa based baker but I have People not even Customers, from all over the United states show me so much love . Well Into when I first started I used hand mixers to mix , I went thru quite a few . Feeling defeated the very last time it broke, I had posted on my Instagram I went thru yet another mixer . I shouldn’t have to tell you how expensive it is starting a business so let’s just say I didn’t have the funds to buy another mixer lol . With still an order due hand mixing was my only option . Until ….. An amazing follower hits me up & expressed to me how she wanted to buy me a mixer ! I’ve never met this absolutely amazing lady till this day & I hope she reads this ! Thank You Again ! You are a Huge Reason I Will Always Help & Support Others. With My New Mixer I Went On To Donating Birthday Cakes & Doing Charity Events .

Amanda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
A Little bit about me, my name is Amanda I’m a self taught Tampa based baker . I’m a wife & mom of 4 . I Started my business about 4 years ago officially doing Cakes for 2. I’m from Brooklyn, New York . I make custom fondant Cakes all around Tampa Bay. My Instagram is @Foreverinyourflavor_ I’m currently working on a baking book of course called Forever In Your Flavor ! I’m probably the most down to earth person you’ll come across . My Cakes have way more of a social life then me lol .
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I Am Very Big On Customer Satisfaction, if you know me you know I go above and beyond for each and every cake order . It’s a huge honor to be apart of your special event . I will always do the up most to make your vision come alive . Pretty sure that’s a huge reason I’ve gotten to build my reputation to what it is now .

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A Lesson I’ve had to unlearn…. would have to be the constant race to be the best. In this profession it isn’t about being the best it’s about how well you can correct your own mistakes or if you can come up with a simpler or easier way to achieve a certain look or flavor . The journey is always a self one. Shout out to the bakers like myself that always lend a helping hand to the up & coming .
