We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jesse & Julia Torres a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jesse & Julia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

To be successful, it requires the person to be consistent and dedicated to the goal they set for themselves. It is important to be flexible in certain situations that may happen along the way to the success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Hi! We are Jesse & Julia. We are two travelers doing what we enjoy the most – exploring the world. Along our travels and work our paths crossed in Xuzhou, China. It was this common adventurous attitude that brought us to the same place, and now we both share it together every day. We travelled to 18 countries together and learned about the place, culture, and people. Our goal is to share our knowledge with our audience via our blog, YouTube, and Instagram. We are currently based in Tampa, Florida. Here we take our motorcycle to various locations, experience local food, discovering hidden gems and just enjoying the open country.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

We started our YouTube channel to show our relatives and friends our adventures. A few months later we realized that a lot of people are interested in places we were visiting and living in. We decided to be consistent in creating content for people and uploading the videos every week.

In 2020 we were stuck in Bali for 5 months. During that time we decided to create our Instagram account where we will post photos from beautiful locations and share the tips that will be useful for travelers like us. Again, consistency is the key along with the quality of the post.

Few months later we began working on our website, where we provide our readers with more details, itineraries, and advice.

Our advice for people who just starting to build the social media presence is: Social Media takes time to grow. Do it for the right reasons and don’t focus to much on the number of your followers or likes. Be consistent with your posts, focus on quality not quantity.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

We are very passionate about what we do. We love creating content, work with it, edit, and see the final result. It keeps us busy and it is always rewarding when you see that something you have created helped someone else.
