We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shaymekia Hayes a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Shaymekia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
Whew what a question well i know my legacy will be successful I have no choice I grand and hustle constantly making changes to better my business my life and also my out look on life I try to stay positive even when I’m tired because I know what my goal is and what needs to be done to get there

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have have always dabbled in the beauty industry since a kid my mom passed it to me but I only started taking it serious bout 5 years ago which I should have earlier in life but unfortunately I grew up on survival not to much love the service that I provide are braids quick weaves sew ins the problems that solve for my clients is insecurities I always encourage my clients to try something different step out the box weather it’s a Male-or female I talk to my clients and we talk about everything I have suite and I provide snack fruits and drinks to all my client so that they can feel at home or comfortable I’m most proud of my growth I have come so far in this industry I mean I have signed 4 NDAS this year I would have never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be this far I want everyone to know that when you look good you feel good and do good so book with me so we can make the world shake
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I had some thing going on in my personal life that tried to kinda spill in to my business life and I was miserable man i went into a deep depression for like three months the only thing that was keeping my up was doing hair and my village aye shout out to to them I love y’all I was able to get a hold of stuff make decisions that needed to be made I stepped out on fait because that’s what god told me to do and I listened a couple of people had a few choices words for me I lost a lot is so called friends but I prevailed because one thing for sure and two things for certain I will always stand ten toes down about my self

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that every body want to see me win wheww because baby they don’t some people see your potential or purpose before you and they will try to keep you stagnant because they know once you see it for yourself oh it over with but see me I have always been the one to get out from under the umbrella and feel the rain
