We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chasity Wright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chasity, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
In 2006, I served in Iraq as an USAF engineer. A HACKER TAKE DOWN left aircrews, ships, and troops walking the grounds of Iraq communities totally unable to communicate with command. The adversary used quantum entanglement to pull off the hack, which is a discrete way to launch different attacks all at once. We were sitting ducks and millions of lives were at stake not just in Iraq but in the US. Two things hit me that day if they could take down the US Govt, they could take down their businesses in the same manner as well. The businessess even with their current cybersecurity protections wouldn’t be able to stop or recover from it. Which could lead to catastophic cyber events such as utilitiy grids going down and not being able to recover or sewage water contaminating drinking water because of a sophisticated hacker.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
CEO & Inventor, Chasity’s tech experience started in the USAF with Aerospace, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, and System Engineering. She has expertise in cloud architecture, blockchain and a certification in quantum computing with a Bachelor’s in Cyber Policy and Information Assurance Management. My startup, Infiltron Software Suite, has patented a cybersecurity SaaS solution that will provide protection from hackers and innovative cyber attacks when RSA’s encryption (most widely used) becomes obsolete and ineffective against things such as Quantum Computing attacks.
I am most proud of the team we’ve assembled and our satisfied customers we are protecting at Infiltron Software Suite. This helps organizations plan ahead of an attack on where they need to up their cyber protection to include patching especially for legacy devices. Infiltron providing this solution has supported companies’ detection of unknowns faster, decreasing internal breaches such as phishing by 74% in 3 months, reducing their cyber insurance premiums, and maintaining or securing major contracts due to their cyber assessment scoring.
We are a team of experts from DoD, NSA, and the commercial cyber industry that have experienced quantum attacks, whereas our industry competition has not. As technology innovates so do hackers, our solution has the capacity to provide protection in quantum environments because of our patent and real-life experience. Giving us an edge on providing this type of protection.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Share your vision and the mission of the business. As the leader, you need to have some goals for the business. If your goal is to have the best reputation for customer service, for example, team members know what to strive for and have a goal. Getting them involved creates ownership of the business’s vision. If team members understand why the goal is important, they will feel personally responsible for making it a success.
Give some power to team members. If you want team members to care, you have to give them some responsibility and some decision-making latitude. Team members have to believe that the decisions they make and the work they perform has a direct impact on the product or service you provide. This may be easier to achieve and demonstrate in a small business than it would be in a larger one.
Encourage risk-taking. Let team members experiment and try to find new ways to help the business reach its goals. Don’t create a culture where employees are afraid to try anything new because if they fail they will be punished. Allow a certain amount of failure, and reward people for trying.
Plan social and athletic activities. These types of activities allow people to interact with each other on a level that can build stronger professional bonds. If your business is small, perhaps just an annual dinner or picnic somewhere is enough. If you have several team member with a similar hobby or athletic interest, maybe your business can sponsor a team in a local league.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Focusing on the customer one by one. Each customer is unique even if they are in the same market. At Infiltron, we have conversations with our customers consistently. This has led to more referrals and is a part of the success of Infiltron Software Suite.
