We recently connected with Will Severns and have shared our conversation below.
Will, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a customer success story with us?
Beau Payne.
One of our authors, Beau Payne, was a MLB draft pick and Army Veteran who stumbled into a path of alcohol addiction. Beau spent ten years in prison before his release in 2020.
Turning his life around one day at a time, you can now find Beau on Instagram @soberbeau
His story has inspired thousands, and he chose to write his book with Streamline. Before his publish date in October of 2022, we booked Beau a $15k speaking gig to share his message with the world.
All because of an incredible story, and a book to solidify his message and expertise.
Will, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Streamline Books helps prospective authors write and publish their book in a 16-week process. Furthermore, we help those authors “get booked” in the aftermath of writing, editing, and publishing their book.
We help our authors think about “why” they want to write a book in the first place, and coach them on the more important reasons for writing and publishing their story—in a world that glamorizes writing a “bestseller” we guide them in a more meaningful direction.
In addition, we offer a specialized “Frontline Books” offering for veterans, teachers, nurses, service workers, and those in ministry to get their books into the world—for people serving in a frontline industry to share their story and expertise. As well as “Finishline Books” which is our offering for an older audience (ages 65+) looking to share their wisdom with the world.
Moving forward, our telos is to provide a “voice to the voiceless” for men and women who want to write their book but don’t know where to start. And in 2023, we plan on rolling out our “Empower an Author” initiative where we will accept nominations for someone’s story to tell, and vote quarterly (internally as a team) on an entry to write his or her book for free.
We believe the world is in need of less news and more stories.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Alex Demczak and I worked at a Christian summer camp in Branson, Missouri from 2012-2014. After working at camp, we went our separate ways in life but reconnected in 2020 after I wrote and self-published my first book titled “Gouge”.
Alex read my book and encouraged me to help others write theirs. I told him that’s largely why I wrote it—as a foray into the self-publishing world. Alex has been a public speaker for 5+ years and we started brainstorming about an offering that paired our gifting and skill sets:
1) My love for the writing and editing process and Alex’s expertise in public speaking and launching your story into the world.
Together, we teamed up and took on our first client, NFL long-snapper, Colin Holba. We wrote and published Colin’s book in July of 2021, and 14 months later, in September of 2022, kicked off our 30th author.
In that 12-month span of time, we solidified our 16-week proven process, solidified project management, and recruited a team to meet the demand of wonderful individuals wanting to write their books and get booked to speak.
Alex and I are now on a mission to help as many people as possible go through this process, as we know it’s an opportunity for new authors to earn ROI that comes not necessarily from book sales, but from earning credibility in one’s field that leads to business growth, speaking engagements, and consulting opportunities. But more importantly, words (and a story!) solidified on paper will outlive us all.
You can now find out more about Streamline Books at WriteMyBooks.com and schedule an intro call with someone from our team to make your book a reality.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Our offering is built upon solid relationships, and at the core of those relationships is Trust with a capital “T” (for no other reason than Trust is CRUCIAL to our process).
Many other players in this self or indie-publishing space over-promise, and therefore, in the end, hurt the client’s feelings because they were misled with unspoken expectations. With Streamline, we are very upfront about our process, the possible outcomes of publishing one’s book (for better or worse), and the worthwhile adventure that occurs in the aftermath.
You can read many of our Google Reviews from clients or team members who have caught the original vision Alex and I had for Streamline: helping others write and get booked.
From conference speakers to webinar leaders, so many people think it’s another person’s story/expertise that is worthy of being told. We’re here to debunk that lie, and inform others of an exciting truth:
The world needs your book.
Seven billion people? No. But a world much closer to home that needs what you have to say.
We’ll help you get there, and will walk alongside you with Trust at every step,
