We recently connected with Jotwyla Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jotwyla, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
It is my passion to empower women. I want women to understand their place in history (not in terms of what history books record and status in society) but in terms of what we accomplished in our families, community, workplaces, churches, and how significant our contributions have been and continue to be to progress and successes in every space we find ourselves.
I do this through my Empowerment Subscription Service, the books that I author and providing a platform to allow women to share their stories with others.
I want to leave an example of supporting, mentoring, lifting, cherishing and helping to transform the lives of others and teaching them to do the same.

Jotwyla, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the president of Empowerment Encounters. I am a Helpdesk Specialist who supports NASAs Independent Verification & Validation facility, I am the First Lady of Restoring Life Ministries, a certified life coach and an Author.
I love helping people to fulfill their goals and assisting them to become the best version of themselves.
I provide daily inspiration through the Empowerment Encounter subscription services, and also teach a monthly bible study as well. I enjoy ministering a word of hope and truth at Restoring Life Ministries.
My collection of books will support the reader to learn tools and techniques to live an enriched life and to deal with crisis effectively.
Empowerment Encounters LLC is a one-stop shop for living better!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I love writing and the liberty it provides. I love that it brings life to stories that would possibly never have been heard. I also love hearing the stories from the lives that I have touched.
The other day I received a call from a subscription holder who advised that she had shared the Empowerment Encounter for the day with a co-worker and it changed her view of her current circumstance. She went on to say that she uses the words of encouragement when speaking to her customers, family and friends and she knows how much it makes a difference in all of their lives.
This is why I keep moving forward in pursuing a larger audience so that others can experience the same results.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In my last book launch for Girl, Get Up! Stories of Strength from Resilient Women I planned and advertised the launch with a live party on social media for weeks. A collaborating author and I tested our set up and were ready to go! On the day of the launch the live did not work as expected. I received numerous messages from people who were trying to join and could not see or join the meeting. There was a lot of moving parts, and I lost a good portion of the audience. Initially I was very upset, but I determined that this would not stop us. The good thing is that the meeting was recorded.
I went to the book page on social media and explained to the audience of the problem and set a time to replay. I then created a series of advertisements, hosted a book signing, and proceeded to sell books.
I refused to be defeated and was determined to focus forward.
Girl, Get Up! has been a great success and has received so much positive feedback. It has been the most successful book I have published to date. Be on the lookout for Girl, Stay up!
