Krystal, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today The first dollar you earn in a new endeavor is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.

I’m a hairstylist, and before I got my first client, I was assisting and waiting tables. The woman I was assisting for offered me a suggestion on growing my clientele. She said I should cut my hair into a bold style so I could get some attention; then give everyone that asked about it my card! So I got the cutest mohawk you’ve ever seen!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’ve been doing hair for almost 14 years, it’s a funny story how it all began; So, I wasn’t allowed to cut my hair when I was a kid (religious reasons) at 18 I cut my hair for the first time…. And it changed how I felt about myself dramatically!

Now, that’s what I get to do for a living! And I love it! I think how you feel about yourself is the start of everything, it can have a ripple effect on your entire life.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

The biggest message I want to spread for women; it’s ok to want to feel Beautiful, it’s ok to prioritize yourself. You are worth it!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I think building genuine relationships with my clients, & truly caring about them has been the key!

In world dominated by social media it’s so hard to find authenticity, I believe people crave it and know it when they find it.
