We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nathan Delva a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nathan , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I took the biggest risk of my life packing up all my belongings and moving to Los Angeles California in February of 2022. This by far has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done but the experience has been like no other. My month there I had no car or job yet so I went through some up-and-down struggles. Throughout that time I book my first casting video in the second week of living in LA. March I landed a lafw casting along with meeting Wiz Khalifa and going to his documentary release party. April I landed the start of being a male ambassador for NovaMEN. As months continued to come God continues to send me blessings . I am now signed with a not only a acting agency , also a modeling agency.I say all this to say no matter what the dream or goal is , think big and go after it . BIG SUCCESS FOLLOWS BEHIND BIG RISK .
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Nathan Delva and I am a well-rounded Entrepreneur. Blessed with the ability of acting , modeling dancing , role model and sharing genuine positive energy. I’ve always been a hard-working and naturally gravitated to people with a good energy. My first job ever which got me into the industry was hosting nightlife events,it has continue to opened up so many doors for me till this day. I own my own clothing brand by the name of #EnvisionApparel in which I promote every night I’m out. I have four years of New York Fashion Week Run Away experience in which I started modeling professionally after graduating college. From there I Landed jobs with different companies in the industry that opened up many more doors for me. I am now signed to a acting agency in Los Angeles. I moved to LA to fully be able to follow my dreams and put a action to my short term goals. On a daily I make it my homework to network and reach out to the biggest brands in the world being that that’s where I see myself in the near future. Throughout my social media I showcase my talent and use it as a platform to show the story of my journey on becoming the biggest model an actor in the industry. when people visit my page I want them to feel welcomed and know that I am always open to giving a helping hand as long as they’re willing to put in the work behind it. As a go-getter I have never been handed or spoon fed any big opportunities in my life. Any huge deal that I land or have had the opportunity to participate in was simply from Hardwork behind closed doors.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In my point of you I feel like we should all share our knowledge and experience with others in similar industry goals as us. This idea not only supports but helps teach others things that some of us have experience and learn from or some of us have yet to experience but can avoid it with the knowledge of someone that has successfully done the same thing. I feel a lot of times people hide knowledge or experience because they’re afraid of others reaching the same level of success as them. In reality there is enough room and money for everyone to eat and still live their own life and fairytale.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I knew about documentaries and YouTube university earlier on in my creative journey. Feeding your brain knowledge on success or the industry you’re working on is very important. It’s very similar to going to gym but for the mind and I feel as I learned this at such a later time in my creative journey. But in reality I feel like everything happens for a reason and God‘s timing is always perfect.
