Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiffany Gonzalez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tiffany , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
My parents worked hard to make sure we never went without, and I know now it was not easy for them. My father came from Cuba when he was in his 20’s on a raft and was here alone. He did not know the language or have any special career training. All he had was his two hands and his grit. The amount of courage it took to do this has always remained at the forefront of my mind when I think about the decisions I make today. My mother, a new york native, met my dad in Miami after her mom moved her here with not much to their name either.
My parents have put so much emphasis on learning and education early on. My mother took an active role in my education. Helping me with art and science projects. She maintained close relationships with my teachers ensuring I remained challenged and engaged. She made learning and problem-solving fun for me. I vividly recall weekly trips to the library. Running in and out of the aisles, trying to decide which new books I’d be taking with me. My mom would ask me to read to her in the car and tell me about my favorite book that particular day. I always felt bad when my mom had to pay late library fees because I’d want to hold on to certain books longer than I was supposed to. This passion for learning remains with me today.
Even though we had less resources than most, my parents always made sure we had everything we needed. My dad would work long shifts and take on additional projects to ensure I could participate in the best programs and sports teams. Even though the demands of producing income was important, my dad always made the time to be present at every softball game. He taught me the importance of work ethic through sports. Showing up when you’ve committed to it. Giving it your all, even when you’re not feeling your best. Always demonstrating a positive attitude and supporting the team. I remember one particular game where we lost and it was tradition to always shake the hands of the opposing team win or lose.. and after this particular game, I didn’t want to do that. I felt defeated and I was angry that the other team had performed better. As I tried to walk away, my dad talked to me and made me get in the line to shake their hands. That day, he taught me what it meant to have character. He taught me that even when you lose, you do so with grace and you learn from it so that you can ultimately succeed. This showed me what it meant to always do your best and be your best.
These four things – courage, thirst for learning, strong work ethic, and good character have shaped who I am as a female entrepreneur.
Now that I myself am a mother of a two-year-old boy and a 2-month-old girl, I truly understand the sacrifices they have made and I hope to instill the same noble qualities in them.

Tiffany , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Tiffany C. Gonzalez CPA, and I was born and raised in Miami. I am married to Daniel Gonzalez who also works in the business, he is our Director of Business Development. We have two children, Reign 2 years old and Vida who is 2 months old!
Growing up, I always admired my aunt who was a CPA and Controller at the University of Miami. She was respected by her peers and had a big office that I was amazed with as a kid.
I went on to get my bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Miami with a major in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation from Florida International University. I am very proud to be a Certified Public Accountant that passed all exams on the first attempt.
I Founded Accounting to Scale in 2014 out of my Apartment with a Laptop before working from home was a thing to do. Accounting to scale was founded on the need for small business owners to receive accurate and timely financials, to provide affordable controllership you could count on. We believe that financial decisions are the reason why some businesses make it and others don’t. Making the right decisions start with accuracy in the numbers.
We not only look to provide the financial reporting but to be there to help business owners with budgeting, planning and Tax strategies throughout the year.
We believe financial education is crucial to success in business and personal growth, so about two years ago we started a YouTube Channel. We make 2-5 minute videos on all things finance from Tax, Investing, Retirement Accounts, and even Crypto Currency. We have over 180 videos on our channel and post a new one every week, make sure to check it out and get your financial I.Q up!
How did you build your audience on social media?
I feel we have built our social media presence one day at a time, and it has been a team effort. From first really identifying what our brand is, our colors and the message we want to convey. We decided early on that we had to post every day in order to show our potential clients who we are as a company and our culture of showing up for our clients.
When we started our YouTube Channel, it was at the start of the pandemic and reliable information was critical for small business owners. We made it our mission to stay on top of all the latest updates with the Stimulus, PPP and EIDL. It has always been about staying relevant with the information and making it easy to understand.
Being authentic with our audience and portraying our core values of P.A.C.T (Problem-Solving, Accountability, Communication, Teamwork) has been critical to establishing a connection that keeps them coming back for more content.
We truly believe that better financial education and opportunities to learn can help people climb the financial ladder.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Our best source of new clients is our existing client base. Being a CPA is a job that comes with a lot of responsibility and trust you have to build with your clients. Everyone is different, everyone’s tax situation is different, so being a great CPA requires a great personal touch.
We love that our existing clients refer us to their friends and family, there is no better compliment.
