Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Demaree . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Demaree , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is the Single Mom’s Devotional that I am writing. It’s the first time I am sharing some of my story and life as a single mom. It’s been therapeutic and tough and humbling to revisit some moments, but I really hope it will be a healing resource for other single mom’s.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have taken many creative paths in my life but I feel a new freedom in this path, in some ways it feels like all roads led here. I have a background as a professional actress and singer and have always been a talker just ask any of my school teachers and faith has always been the anchor of my life. It’s really no surprise to me how God has woven this new path and season together where I feel like I get to use all of this preparation for my women’s ministry.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist is how healing it is. How you can write a song that simultaneously heals you as you are writing it and the listener as they hear it, I am finding the same is true when you share your experiences and truth in written word.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’m still standing! Haha! I began my professional career at 8 years old in the Broadway show Les Miserables and my life has been full of successes and rejections yet I have always found a way to remain creative and continue pursuing my passions in one way on another. I am still creating regardless of my age and circumstances. In a society that puts time limits of when you should finally put that dream on a shelf, I refuse to. I’ve often thought about the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 If you aren’t familiar with the story ( It’s a good read) It encourages us to use our time, resources, abilities and money well. I certainly never wanted to be the example of the one who buried his talents and was reprimanded for it and the little he was given was then taken from him and given to the man who used his talents well.
