We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Candace Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Candace below.
Alright, Candace thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
In November of 2021, I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my corporate job, to pursue my passion in women empowerment.
I was tired of waking up telling myself I want a different life, but yet I was being complacent. Do not allow doubt to delay your goals and aspirations. I do not regret anything.
This is the story behind Ferocious HMR (Hear Me Roar).

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am originally from Illinois, but have lived in Dallas, TX for many years. I am a licensed Esthetician and founder of Ferocious HMR (Hear Me Roar). I have a passion for skin care and love to educate individuals on the best quality of skin they can achieve. I have so much love for women. Women are amazing and I feel that I was called to empower women all over the world. I too have had many trials and tribulations to overcome with society’s definition of the expectation of women.
We offer great products to include Ferocious apparel and mugs. We also offer a membership service fee of $35 quarterly. I provide facials, Brazilian waxing, as well as inform the client(s) on proper skin care to let their skin flourish.
My goal is to help women see themselves as their true authentic self. What sets us apart from others is that Ferocious truly want to hold women accountable, and help them achieve their goals financially, mentally, physically, and emotionally.
I am proud of my growth in my self-worth and being able to project this onto others.
I want my potential clients/followers/fans to know that no what matter they are going through, no matter what obstacles may come their way, they will survive. We all go through different hurdles in life to reach our goals. I was once that woman who always doubted myself. Now I am able to conquer every obstacle that comes my way. I AM A BLACKSMITH.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
“When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them.”
I always believed that if I was a nice person and people see me for who I am, that they would like me, and I could change them. Needless to say, I had to realize that this is not true.
I was in a toxic relationship believing that if I was nice and considerate to this person, they would change to love me the way I want to be loved. Needless to say, this person truly drained all of my energy and time. I finally had to let go and realize that people are going to be who they are, and one cannot change a person if they do not want to change. “You cannot help those you do not want to help themselves.”

How’d you meet your business partner?
On October 11, 1985, I was born to Veronica Harris and James Brown. My mother Veronica Harris has always been my supporter. She is so kind and giving. My mother always tells me, “Baby just let me know what you need because I believe in you.” This is why I chose my mother as my co-founder. She is the epiphany of Ferocious. If there were three words that can describe my mother (there are so many more), I would say powerful, tenacious, and selfless.
