We were lucky to catch up with SoulTribe Sanctuary recently and have shared our conversation below.
SoulTribe , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Thank you for the opportunity and the platform to share parts of our story. One defining moment that changed the trajectory of our church’s history was when shaman Aqüa, LittleFoot and Mariposa of SoulTribe Sanctuary met and reconnected in this physical reality, and the personal journeys that led them to each other. In addition, receiving personalized guidance and training from the Kumeyaay indigenous tribe leaders in Baja California, Mexico has been a blessing and confirmation that we are on a good path. Moreover, our individual and collective healing and expansion journeys have facilitated the creation process of a safe, sacred, shamanic ceremony space for members to have the opportunity to experience themselves, SoulTribe Sanctuary and our sacrament with the intention to tap into the mind, body and spirit connection that exists in each of us. It is an honor and a privilege to lead our sacramental shamanic-religious ceremonies. These defining moments are the foundation we have created to cultivate the never ending process of growth, and expansion of consciousness for ourselves and the community at large.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Avec plaisir. SoulTribe Sanctuary is a nondenominational, interfaith, religious entity that supports the safe access to Animal, Plant and Fungal entheogens. Our primary entheogenic sacrament is sacredly called Niños Santos, commonly known as psilocybin mushrooms. While we understand the sacred use of entheogens is not for everyone, SoulTribe Sanctuary helps connect those who feel the call to entheogenic sacraments with highly respected sacred shamanic ceremonies and retreats in the United States of America and around the globe where religious freedom and respect for the indigenous exist. SoulTribe Sanctuary has three ceremonial leaders; shaman Aqüa, shaman LittleFoot and shaman Mariposa. We invite you to read our Statements of Beliefs and visit our website.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The shamans of SoulTribe Sanctuary have each individually encountered many experiences and emotions that continue to be transmuted for their highest good and equanimity for those around them.
One experience that seems to be the common thread and an example of resilience among these three individuals is the realization of their identity as part of the 2SLGBTQI+ community. SoulTribe Sanctuary shamans like many gay beings on the planet, had to find their way in conditions and communities that didn’t understand the creative gay energy and psyche. They were confronted with a journey which leads most gay individuals into different forms of disguise, deceit, denial or inner conflict. Self-acceptance is one of the most resilient necessary stands we can take for the future.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
More than unlearning, we think of releasing. At Soultribe Sanctuary we release that which is not in alignment between who we are and who we want to become. The word shaman may carry different meanings, in different contexts. We have learned to accept that everyone is entitled to their own interpretations. Every being on this plane of existence is a healer to themselves. Aqüa, LittleFoot and Mariposa offer guidance towards alignment with intention. Directing attention inward reveals glimpses of the possibility to actualize the Good, the True and the Beautiful. SoulTribe Sanctuary stands strong in providing a safe space and environment for members of the church to commune with the Niños Santos, explore their spirituality, the multiverse within, gain clarity and remember the importance of conscious breathing.
