Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bella Hernandez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bella, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
I worked regular jobs for ten years before I started my business, so I have a pretty good idea of what it would be like. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think about it–especially during months when I don’t make as much money.
The first few years of running a business are hard because you’re building it while mastering your skills. That’s a lot of work. So there have been times when I’ve missed making the same amount every paycheck, but when it comes to my mental health, I know it would never be worth it to go back.
I struggle with anxiety and need my work to be something I’m passionate about. I also always found it difficult to find a job that didn’t have a toxic work environment.
My quality of life has improved so much now that I work for myself. Whenever I think about what it would be like to have a regular job, I just remind myself that I’m still in the stage of building my business and mastering my skills. I know that as long as I stick with it, it’ll grow into something so much more beautiful than I ever could’ve imagined.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
When I first discovered copywriting, I immediately fell in love because it allowed me to be creative while writing for businesses I cared about.
But along the way, I realized how harmful it could be. A lot of traditional copywriting is about getting into the customer’s head and manipulating them into buying or taking action.
As someone whose mission has always been to make the world a better place, that didn’t feel right to me. So I switched from being a traditional copywriter to an ethical copywriter!
Now, I love what I do even more because I’ve found an ethical way to do it. I’ve learned that a lot of other business owners feel this way, too–they don’t feel comfortable being manipulative or only caring about the sale and not the human behind it. It makes me happy that so many business owners want to be ethical, and I want to show them that it’s possible.
I currently can help these businesses in two ways: I can write ethical copy for them or I can teach them how to write ethical copy for themselves.
Making a positive difference in the world will always be important to me. I do this by helping businesses be more ethical (because let’s face it… businesses have a lot of impact on the world) and by showing them how to use their business to help others and give back to their communities.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Referrals will always be the best, but if you’re new and don’t have that, then TikTok or Pinterest are where it’s at!
A lot of people give up on TikTok when they don’t immediately go viral, but you really don’t have to go viral on TikTok to be successful. Focus on posting consistently and showing people how you can help them. I see so many businesses do this. They might get ten likes on one video and 11k on the next, but either way, they’re finding clients. The more you post, the more likely people will discover your business.
Pinterest is also an amazing way to find new clients. It’s a search engine, so if you know how to use keywords, it can really help the right people find you. I run a blog and most of my website viewers come from Pinterest.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being honest and transparent about my journey and everything I sell. There will always be people out there who will try to scam you or lie to get your money. People will appreciate it when you show that you actually care about them and see them as more than just a sale.
