Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Danielle Forgione. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Danielle, appreciate you joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
We are definitely happier as business owners. When we think back to what we were doing prior to opening the studio we now cannot imagine our life without it. While owning our own business is a lot of work it also allows us to create our own schedules and to be there for ourselves and our families as needed. We are also able to prioritize that work/family balance because we have an amazing staff at Raise The Barre. Our staff consists of people who work hard and care about the studio as much as we do. We know that when we are not there that we can rely on them to run it the way we would. We are thankful each and every day for this business and our staff.

Danielle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Danielle has her degree in Dance Education with a concentration in Modern Dance and has always had a passion for dance and passing her knowledge on to others. Melissa has her degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing and she has always wanted to own a business. Together we have created a place where children of all ages can come and learn to dance at a pace that is best for them. We concentrate on building a strong technical foundation for each dancer as well as building their confidence and self esteem. At Raise The Barre we offer year round dance classes, mini sessions, special events, birthday parties and have a competitive dance team. Definitely a place for everyone!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Danielle and Melissa are both from New York, we met when our daughters were in preschool when they were two years old. They began dancing together the following year and have been best friends ever since, they are now 10. Danielle and Melissa became friends through the girls and the rest is history!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our community has been nothing less than amazing and supportive since we decided to start this journey in the middle of the pandemic. We feel that the amazing families who take class with us as well as our friends and families speak very highly of us which in turn entices people to give us a try. Once they are here at the studio we strive to create a positive environment and make everyone feel welcome. We try to be as transparent as possible and we welcome any and all questions and concerns as we feel communication is key to to having a thriving business.
