Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kriss Betancourt . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kriss, thanks for joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Since I was a child, I visualized myself doing multiple things , while children of my age watched cartoons, I watched food/ beauty and home decor shows, admiring various people who inspired me to be like them when I grew up ( As soon as I finished my beauty career in my country Venezuela, I started working in a SPA for 5 years. later become independent and create my own company, then when I emigrated to the United States and with the pandemic, I had the opportunity to cover another area that I’m passionate about, which is the kitchen, but due to time factors/studies and full-time work I couldn’t achieve before.
Creating my own livelihood in a country that opened its doors to me and of course with my family support, have been one of the greatest satisfactions, it is no a secret to anyone that undertaking means sacrificing. The first year you will only see red numbers, with a lot of discipline, marketing strategies, perseverance and good customer service you definitely can be completely successful in a lapse of 3 to 5 years .
I always visualized myself starting my own businesses, I consider that being an employee is extremely important, that allows you to know how to work as a team, and what shouldn’t do if you are a manager/ boss/ some people are really bad managers/ owners because they never were good employees and people need to understand that a large company can only be successful with employees who work happily, a good work environment.
Being a good leader means valuing every person who helps your business grow, and very few leaders do. So why work for someone else’s dream if you can work for yours even if it’s not easy, life is full of risks !

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Hahaha sometimes I think social media is more complicated than us ( women) you think you have everything controlled and you finally found the formula to grow, when is not like that 😂! But, that’s the point, you need to be really creative, ingenuous, show the behind the scene of your business so people can identify with you and also trust. The true is, everybody wants to be viral, monetize with social medial and that makes the works a little bit more hard for small business that only want to sale their products, and you can’t grow if you only show your products without learn marketing, take good pictures, make good reels or videos that offer good content to connect with the client. So requires your 200% . To be honest I enjoy all that because my mind is always creating something. My advice is “ Easy peasy, don’t get frustrated if your post doesn’t get the views, likes or shares that you expect, just keep focus and creating” it’s the best way to grow organically
