Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jay (Woah) Martin . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jay (Woah), appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Well Im not going to say most meaningful because I believe anything/everthing that I’ve done or do for any of my clients no matter the circumstances is MOST meaningful (especially in the moment) but helping Soundcloud with the “Plugg” documentary for MexikoDro was really big for the culture. Helping bring to light 1 of the biggest underground and becoming main stream sound. Sounds for a guy I’m very hands on with managing and who is 1 of the pioneers of the sound was BIG really BIG. being apart of the movement and having a platform like Soundcloud take the story of how the sound develop to where’s its going and presenting it to the world was very cool and watching them give MexikoDro his flowers right now was very awesome as well. And for him (MexikoDro) being able to do all the events from Atlanta, New York, and LA and him really realizing how important he is to this genre of music and music period and actually seeing it for 1 of the 1st times was very special.

Jay (Woah), before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well most people in the music business know me as Lil Woah now just Woah which was a radio name I went by when I was in college. I got my start hosting college parties, clubs, events and being on the radio. Now I do management of artist and now mainly producers. I like starting with my clients from ground up listening to their dreams and visions and we set goals on making them come to life. I take on what looks like rocks and as a team clean them up, cut and create big massive beautify VVS diamonds out of them. I really can tell you what sets me apart from others cause I really focus on what me and my people around me are doing but what I can tell you im very hands on and go up and beyond for my guys if you work with me we are going to be creative and stay ahead of the curve and be on top of things, the answer NO will get solved to YES’S, Some of the things im most proud of is actually seeing my clients dreams come true like Tasha Catour a female song writer now turned producer who has worked with most of her wish list as a producer now etc Future, Monica, Chris Brown Flo Millie just to name a few her Favorite artist is Brandi we are working on that room. JJTurnmeup and TheCrazyPart 2 dope *ss producers that has the new wave of sound on lock, hearing what they want to achieve and we as a team going after it and coming fast creating artist from underground to main stream off of their sound and working with ChaseTheMoney with them who helping elevate that. another 1 of my guys is Beat Gnuis out of Buffalo NY watching him pave his way onto the scene and only thing I would want anybody that wats to be a potential client to know is don’t come around if you not ready to give it your all 100% in I can’t want it more then you. This is a calculated grind it WILL work only if you work.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yep a gaol that’s driving me is turning dreams into reality when you actually can see what you wrote down thought of and imagine start to happen, Its like a rush to me and it can become lucrative in the journey lol.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me the most rewarding aspect to managing artist and producers is seeing them being able to change their lives and their families, and changing the narrative for them. some of my guys are very young and being able to make money and support themselves at a young age without having to do a regular 9-5 (which is nothing wrong with that might I add) but being able to boss up on their on and employ their friends and create ways and being in rooms where rich white men and women have to respect them/us is very rewarding to see.
