We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cabus . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cabus below.
Cabus , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I’ve been lucky enough to work on some really great music projects over the years. But since this project is about to be released on 9-23-22 (my birthday), I’ll say this one is the most special. Its my debut ep “PSYCHO”. It’s been a work in progress over the last 2-3 years. I started working on it in 2019 and then 2020 happened. The world went through what it went through, so there was a lot of stop and go on the production side. There were times where I wasn’t sure if this project would see the light of day, but through it all and with the help of some amazing people we made it happen and here we are.
Cabus , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into music at very young age. My family introduced me to music. My mother and Uncle were in a gospel duo group and my father built recording studios while also working as a full-time physician. I sang in church, high school, and college. As I got older I played in few bands and did some touring. Grew and learned a lot during that period working with some amazing talent.
I’m most proud of the work that was put into this debut EP, yes there was a lot going on in the world during this time, but we found a way to make it happen. When say “we”, I mean the producers Caleb Turman (Forever The Sickest Kids) and Grant Thompson (Drugstore Cowboy), and the executive producer of the EP Josh Ring.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The ability to make people feel something. The ability to transport people from whatever negative situation they might be in mentally and give them some mental space to breathe.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I think for the goal for me is to always be intentional with how I create and present my art.
