Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Raddix. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Raddix, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I grew up listening to rock and roll, an era of music defined by a new wave of live performances the world had never seen before. Artists like Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, Queen, the Rolling Stones all influenced the way I write music and perform Live. I wanted to bring back the near forgotten art of “performing” and create a moment the listener will remember for life. So I’ve done research on the history of music, as well as taken lessons on stage presence, and vocal coaching. Now currently living in 2022, to put a modern twist on my singing and writing abilities, I’ve also combined my vocals with electronic dance music and hip hop to create a completely unique sound all in its own.
Learning how to manipulate my vocal range over time and just becoming a little more open to meeting new people has definitely helped as well. It took me some time to be comfortable with being in uncomfortable conversations or situations but ultimately has taken my personal growth to the next level.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I came into the music industry to provide a music experience like no other. A unforgettable live show, with all original music, epic vocals and climatic dance drops. I’m a guy from a small town that just recognized in our modern world we don’t have rockstars like we use to. I want to provide to the newer generation an experience of what it was like to really hear and see something unique & special.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Meeting fans and hearing their stories about how my music or message changed their lives in a positive way is the most rewarding thing that could’ve ever come of this. I never knew my life would’ve gone down this path of making music. At first it was only for fun, but once I saw how much of an impact is was making on the world I started to not take any moment or opportunity for granted. I truly am in a unique position to really inspire people and I wouldn’t have gotten here without the love an support from the people around me. It goes to show if you follow through with your goals and believe in yourself you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Being creative isn’t the only part of being an independent artist. There’s much more to running the brand. Booking concerts and festivals, maintaining contacts and creating new connections, marketing, promoting, publishing, creating artworks (flyers, merch graphics, album art), maintaining book keeping and constantly expanding my team and network. I’ve had many sleepless nights writing and recording music while also fulfilling all of these other roles.
