We were lucky to catch up with Gus Angelone recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Gus, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Back in 2004 the Cleveland Browns updated the color of their helmet to “pumpkin orange” & that spawned my idea! Loving the Browns & my favorite holiday Halloween, it was an easy match!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Cleveland Browns Superfan Pumpkinhead. On Browns home games, I host the largest pregame block parties in Cleveland. I do a ton of charity work in the community mostly for children, veterans & animals. You can see me on TV, the Browns jumbotron & out & about during the football season!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Being successful comes w/ its ups & downs. As I’ve turned my passion for the Browns into a niche business, it also comes w/ haters or ppl that are jealous. Took me a while to block out the negativity, but I realized if I wasn’t successful & putting myself out there no one would care.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve been building my social media threw games, contests & giveaways! Being interactive, engaging & fun is the best way to build your target audience
