Alright, Kambri thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard

Kambri, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
With a background in dentistry and a degree in science, I have really educated myself as thoroughly as possible in the chemistry of airbrush tanning as well as teeth whitening. I love to learn and teach, and always do my best to educate clients so that they always have the best tan and teeth whitening results possible!
I am very particular and detail-oriented and so actually I specialize in airbrush tans for photography and partner with a lot of photographers in the area. I love making sure client’s tans are totally natural looking and flawless so that no one would even know you would have a tan! A good spray tan should be one that no one knows you have on.
Lastly, I am huge on body positivity, which is actually a big part of why I love airbrush tanning- anything that makes you a bit more confident should be given a warm welcome! I love making clients feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. I know undressing for a spray tan can be awkward so I make sure to do everything I can do to make my clients feel at home with me- then soon enough they can’t wait to get naked again!
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
One of the best kept secrets in the beauty industry is strategic marketing alliances or partnerships with other businesses in the industry, specifically wedding and beauty industry for our business.
A marketing alliance is when two businesses promote their businesses to each other’s prospect and client database.
This strategy is so powerful that it can single-handedly transform your struggling beauty business into a success because you can drive quality clients virtually any day of the week.
Strategic marketing alliances are so powerful because they require little to no advertising or additional marketing expense, plus you can get access to a list of paying clients that someone else has built a relationship with.
When strategic marketing partnerships are done correctly, you come highly recommended to the prospect from a trusted source.Also, because you’re recommended from a trusted business that the prospect has already built a relationship with, it allows you to instantly position yourself as the go-to girl for that business.
However… a word of caution about strategic marketing alliances or partnerships. The wrong strategic marketing alliance can do massive damage to your beauty estate business reputation if you’re not ready to handle the influx of leads.
That’s why you need to make sure your systems are setup to efficiently and effectively work the leads to keep your partner happy. Treat these clients like VIPs!
Also, when you form a strategic marketing partnership, you need to be prepared to give more than you’re getting to make the strategic alliance attractive. You also need to have several ideas about how to make the alliance a success for your marketing partner.
We partner with tons of different businesses including lash artist, hair and makeup, wedding dress partners, salons that offer services like hair cuts and extensions ect. and it has hands down been our most successful way to build up loyal clientele!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Like many other service businesses during Covid-19, we were unable to safely (or legally) operate during mandated shut downs. Our business already offered some retail items and so during this time we took the opportunity to bolster product sales.
What had mainly only been additional revenue generators as add-ons to our services had to become our main income source!
We since have increased our product line and sell online as well as though social media to make products one of our main revenue generators. Some of the newest additions include at home teeth whitening kits, tan extender, and self tanning mousse and mists as well as accessories like glitter spray (our personal favorite)!
