Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leslie & Ashley Paz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Leslie & Ashley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
Starting a business is never easy, especially when it is completely new to you. So, of course, we had our challenges. We solved many of those challenges by setting up weekly meetings with our teams in each city to discuss all upcoming events to ensure we all had everything we needed to provide our guests with the best experience possible. We take pride in our work and want to deliver that to each one of our events. We love taking the time to build relationships with our guests to be able to customize each event according to their vision.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Our company is a Latina-owned family business. It was founded by a group of strong, beautiful, and determined women ready to bring their experiences together to provide the ultimate picnic experience. It all started as a fun way to celebrate with our families and soon others were interested in doing the same. We are currently established in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, Texas. We are here to make sure that each event we are involved in is inspiring, extraordinary, and unforgettable. Our Austin team is Vanessa and Analydia. Our Dallas team is Raquel and Leticia. Our Houston Team is Leslie, Ashley, Maria, Erika, and Maria Elena. We all came together as a family to create The Picnic Crew.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When we first started sharing on social media we wanted to ensure we were seen, especially since we were a brand new company. Our strategy was to post 3 times a day every day and we wanted to post photos of our setups from different angles to show our potential clients every little detail. Before we posted any photo we made sure it was picture perfect. Another way we made our presence known was by ensuring we interacted with other small businesses, we believe in supporting small businesses in any way possible. A few ways we supported other small businesses was by liking, commenting, and sharing their page on our own page. It is all about building those relationships with others trying to do the same thing you are trying to do, grow a business. Social media has recently changed its focus from photos to videos, so lately we have been trying to record more videos to post since it seems videos are the new way of growing on social media. We definitely recommend trying to record all kinds of videos, get creative!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We love building a relationship with our clients, after their event, we send a follow-up email to ensure everything went as planned. We also send a coupon for them to use at their next event. We love returning clients, it gives us the chance to get to know them more and go above and beyond for them once again.
