We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Bovan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Lets start by saying exactly what my mission is. My mission is to make sure I’m providing ethical, moral and honest service at an affordable price. The goal is to provide high quality credit repair service that keeps education and communication at the forefront.
Growing up, financial literacy wasn’t taught to me. I didn’t know the importance of credit, savings, or money management. I had never done a budget IN MY LIFE! I was in my 20s working as a personal banker when I started to learn about what exactly credit is and why I needed it. When I checked my credit score, all of those uneducated college decisions were staring me in the face and I had no clue how to fix it.
I started doing things like secured loans and secured credit cards to start building but it wasn’t enough. My score started going up but it was very slowly . By the time I was an assistant manager at the bank, I was doing everything I could to learn different ways to increase my credit scores.
All of this led me to not only helping others improve their credit scores, but also educating them on the necessity of good credit and financial literacy.
Ashley , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ashley Bovan and I’m the CEO of New Lyfe Financial Group, New Lyfe Credit Academy and The New Lyfe Project. I’ve been in the financial arena for about 12 years, starting in the banking world then moving to credit repair and tax preparation. My journey to this industry started with me wanting to fix my own credit. I never dreamed of helping other people fix theirs. New Lyfe Financial Group was started in May of 2019 with the intent of providing tax preparation and credit repair services to clients at an affordable price. I’d seen so many companies charging thousands of dollars to barely help clients or do it illegally and put the clients at risk. Since then we’ve added DIY E-books and guides as well as courses with New Lyfe Credit Academy. We’ve branched out to helping you build your credit from scratch as well as building business credit for my entrepreneurs! We wanted to make sure that people who didn’t want or couldn’t afford our done for you services still had affordable options to do it on their own. We also offer a Facebook group for people to join a private community where we discuss credit goals, advice and even give some free help. One thing I’ve always been most proud of is how my clients say I make them feel. Most people always say they’ve talked to several other companies before me but I make them feel the most comfortable and I seem very knowledgeable. It’s so hard to get people to trust you in this industry so it means a lot that people know they can trust and depend on me and my company. In the last 3 years, we’ve helped over 100 people meet their credit goals and that in itself is an amazing accomplishment for me.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I always strive to over deliver! I’m always honest with my clients and I never make promises I can’t keep. I make sure my clients know realistically what I can and can’t do so no one feels like they were lied to. Something as simple as my free consultation can shape the way someone feels about my company. While they’re probably expecting me to be trying to sell them my service the entire phone call, they’re instead getting the steps they can take to improve their credit even if they don’t sign up with me. They’re getting information about credit that they never knew and they love that.

I made sure I took the time to build an email list. When I first started, I didn’t realize the importance of it, but I’m so glad I learned that lesson. While you’re a client, you have a dedicated client portal to send and receive messages, but everyone on my email lists gets a monthly newsletter, receives any coupons or discounts first and get constant credit education emails.
