We recently connected with Sheree Rabinovichh and have shared our conversation below.
Sheree, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had started sooner?
Honestly I don’t think I would have. I say this because I’m a firm believer of the butterfly effect. If I had started any sooner or later, who knows what path I would be on now! Events in my life leading up to starting my business really shaped my creative mindset and gave me the inspiration and drive that has brought me to where I am now.

Sheree, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a traveling wedding & portrait photographer based in Charlotte, NC. My style of work can be described as photojournalistic, taking on the role of the quiet witness that seeks out the true, intimate moments in life. I work to create artwork that will live on for generations, telling love stories through imagery preserved in printed heirlooms. Every story is unique and I find what pieces make someone’s story theirs to piece it all together into one grand story.
Prior to launching STP, I was working what I found to be a dead-end job that I hated. I wasn’t happy with my career, felt a little lost, and found that I did not enjoy working for someone else. I always knew that I wanted to do something on my own but wasn’t sure what that would be and how to go about it. When COVID hit, I was laid off from the job that I disliked so much, and rather than being terrified of the sudden change, I was happy. It was the push that I didn’t know I needed. I realize now had that not happened, when would I have made the change myself? When I returned home and broke the news to my husband, the first thing he said was, “that’s amazing! Now you can do what YOU want to do!” and the rest is history.
I have always loved photography and did it on and off over the years, always more of a hobbyist. I was brainstorming how I can provide for myself and be my own boss, I suddenly had the idea of taking myself and my photography more seriously and getting into the wedding industry. I took the idea and ran with it – throwing myself into styled shoots, assisting other photographers at weddings, practicing techniques at home, and taking courses to educate myself on wedding photography businesses.
It’s been a little over 2 years and I am so happy. I have met so many incredible people, had the honor of documenting some beautiful stories, and having so much fun along the way. Every wedding I learn something new, whether its a new tradition or creative idea, and I find that to be the best part.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Having the honor of documenting one of the most important moments in someone’s life. It’s a task I do not take lightly, and every couple I work with I am so grateful for! Their love has taken me on amazing journeys, visiting new places and meeting new people, and I’ve loved every second. My husband is a photographer as well and he has joined me on many of my weddings, so venturing through this journey with him by my side has been incredible.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Ben Hartley – everything I know is due to his expertise! He is a wedding photographer in Ohio. His courses have given me the wisdom in all I do in my business. I’m not sure where my business would be without him!
