We were lucky to catch up with Zully Bautista recently and have shared our conversation below.
Zully, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I just want to say that I never imagined that I would be an event planner. Let alone a wedding planner. Like Million little girls out there, I have always dreamed about my wedding. Now my mission is to make every Women dream come true of their perfect wedding as we dreamed when we were little girls.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am frequently asked the question, “How did you become an event planner?”
It’s a great question, because most people who are not in the industry have a fascination with the process of how one becomes an event planner. In theory, the job has this sexy allure to it (all of my event planning friends are laughing and rolling their eyes right now, I know). I’m not quite sure where that came from. Maybe it’s the movie The Wedding Planner? Thanks a lot, JLo.
But My story is quite different, I became an Event planner by accident. Yes! you read it by accident. I had recently moved to Texas from NYC and was in need of a job. One day I saw An Influential Planner in Houston looking for an Assistant and that’s how my story started.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Strong Attitude and believing on yourself. Once I was told by a chef that he didn’t take orders from Women. As a female I had to learn to be strong and to let people know I’m in charge!
How did you build your audience on social media?
Pictures, Pictures & More Pictures. People want to see your work. Sometimes we get busy trying to manage so many vendors and to make sure our client is happy that we forget to snap pictures of our work.
