We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cassie Lane. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cassie below.
Hi Cassie, thanks for joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Finding out all my friends were getting Botox and I never knew. I immediately thought, I would be good at that! The women who I realized were getting Botox weren’t the stereotypical Real Housewife. Then as I became a consumer of aesthetic services I realized this was really not skin deep. How we feel about ourselves makes all the difference in our confidence as we navigate the world.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Cassie Lane started Injectables EDU to help new injectors understand, build and grow a successful aesthetics practice. Cassie is passionate about supporting the community of injectors. She wants to share her guide to achieving a successful injectables business. Cassie knows first hand how difficult it is to break into this competitive industry, and wants to help build a community that builds strong providers and strong practices providing support and mentorship that makes the whole industry stronger.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start?
I became really into personal finance and we had a short term rental. We sold that property and I was missing having my little side gig. I worked full time as a CRNA and started a blog about my experience and how to get started. I started small pretty much working 2 full time jobs to fund my start up. It was very difficult to find information and connections to get started with my own practice. I was straight up told by another friend of a friend who is an injector in my town not to steal her clients and she refused to even tell me where her practice was or any information really. There is a big lack of the abundance mentality in aesthetics. Which is so unnecessary as this field is blowing up with a huge influx of new clients seeking providers. I started injectablesedu.com to help other medical providers get a bit of a roadmap of how they can start their own Botox business.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
So you’ve gotten trained and you’re all ready to inject. Let the flood gates open! One snag, no one knows you exist. This is not your traditional medical job. It’s also a marketing job. And a lot of other jobs. But marketing is huge. And typically not in a medical provider’s background. It is imperative to have a good website, social media (pick at least 2 but facebook should be one), and Google My Business. Promote yourself in local Facebook groups as allowed. Connect with other local business owners. Facebook converts more bookings than any other social media currently. Do not underestimate Google My Business and tons of reviews. This is a free way to sky rocket your SEO.
