We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Racheal Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Racheal, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Where do I start!? Well, to begin, I ran track and cross country in high school, which I loved! I loved my team and I loved the endorphins I got after a good run! Two years into college, one of my roommates suggested I went to the gym with her. I was hesitant at first but thought “why not? I’ll just run on the treadmill.” Once I got there, I felt so inspired by others in the weight room, I promised myself I would go again with my roommate and try out the weight room (even though I know how scary it is your first time stepping in with the “big boys and girls”.) After my first “gym sesh” in the weight room, I became obsessed. I loved the feeling of getting the weight up, the people, the atmosphere, nothing felt better. Six years later, after sharing my journey with others on social media, I started to grow a following. I was getting messages about my routines and what I ate, etc. . I decided to start creating plans for my friends. This become more of a regular thing, where I would get questions about my workouts, routines, and diet from followers. I decided to expand my plans and challenges for others. I created my website, and my plan, and also held challenges for my followers. I received so many positive responses to my plans, that I thought I would continue to do this outside of my full-time job as a social worker.
I currently, still work full-time as a social worker and I continue to create plans and challenges for others who are interested. I’m hoping someday this will become a full-time job and I can continue to share my love and passion for fitness!
This is your sign to take the risk, nothing great comes from staying inside your comfort zone.

Racheal, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started in the fitness industry when a friend of mine showed me into the weight room about 7 years ago. When I first hit the weight room, I loved the feeling after a good workout, the atmosphere, the endorphins, and the results. After 6 years of lifting, I started to create my own brand. I created my own website, plans, and challenges for my following. I’m so proud of how far I have become and how I continue to stay humble and inspire others! If I’m helping out 1 person or 100’s, nothing makes me feel better than getting to see the satisfaction of people enjoying my work and getting results from my programs.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, I believe that staying humble is most helpful for someone to succeed in the fitness industry. Be positive, share your experiences, but stay humble. We all started somewhere!

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back, I would choose the same profession. I already work in the field of helping others so this is just another way of doing it!
